How quickly can sunlight discolor a toy or package?

So there's this auction on you-know-where for a MIB piece I've been trying to track down for a while. Everything looks really good. Not perfect, but really good. One potential problem: The seller took the item and the package OUTSIDE in direct sunlight (not to mention an unknown temperature) to photograph it. I'm not sure whether or not to be concerned. I doubt it could have been outdoors/exposed to sunlight for very long, but at the same time...??

Anyone have any thoughts or experience with this?

Thanks.

I seriously doubt 5 minutes for a photo is going to do anything. Unless it's as humid as a sauna out there it should be fine.

From what I've heard, the figure has to be in direct sunlight for quite a few hours before experiencing discoloration later... Could be wrong though...

I would ask the seller how long he had them out in the sun, and where he normally stores the items.

I believe if its left in a room with lots of direct sunlight, I would think you would see some discoloration after a week or two ... depending on temperature and how sunny the days were.

As a kid my TFs were left out on a 3 season porch with large glass windows. After a couple of summers my Metroplex was yellow ... no white left what so ever.

is it just direct sunlight? What about just light coming in the window, but not direct rays?

I dont think five minutes makes much of a difference personally. I've left TFs in a bright room for months with no problem.
