A variant is just that, a variation of the figure, the term doesn't necessarily mean that they'll be a chase piece. I'm not expecting them to contain all of them, but with the way they've been packing them lately I wouldn't doubt it either.
Hmm... Onslaught's not what I expected (I was thinking we'd get his first form), but he's pretty damn creepy. I love his claws. I love Pyro, but I'm not sure how much of that Series I'll get beyond him. I was anticipating Green Goblin so he could square off against FA Spidey, but I've only found Sentinel Series at the local KB, and I'm not keen on paying their prices for MLs. Mojo is pretty damn creepy. Much less comical than his 90s counterpart. I know for a fact I'm getting Longshot (damn, he looks hot) and Psylocke. I hope to God the local Wal-Mart carries the Giant-Man Series. I want Havok, Shadowcat, AoA Sabretooth and AoA Weapon X, and possibly Thor and Captain Britain. I cannot believe ToyBiz is making Modok. I'm not terribly interested in most of the characters in that assortment, but they look good. And I noticed that Moon Knight (aka White Batman Dude) uses the Bullseye mold. Isn't this Series supposed to have a Quicksilver? I'm disappointed that there aren't any pics. The Face-Off packs are badass. I want the Modular Armor Iron Man. And for some strange reason, I want The Leader just because of his freakish forehead. Not terribly interested in the House of M set, but the Inhuman Torch looks awesome.
Looks like ToyBiz got you where they want you. Damn the server's always busy. I want to see pics of the MLs. Anyone got direct link to those pages? I plan to collect all of the upcoming ML Waves except the Mook series. If it doesn't have BAF then I can pass on most of the characters, but I will get Thorbuster, Spider woman, Wasp, and Beta Ray from that line... maybe Moonknight instead of Ray.
I want them ALL! They all look great, and I'm especially impressed with some of the upcoming additions to the X-Men line! New Rogue, Iceman, and Colossus look AWESOME! Mojo looks insane, the 2-packs are sweet, and the Icons are amazing. I'm running out of adjectives, so I'm going to take a cold shower....
Question on the two packs. Are they the same size as normal ML or are they slightly smaller? I couldn't really tell too much.
Just saw the Icons page and I must say those figures ROCK! Is that a modular armor Iron Man I see from that line? Wreckgar's gonna have a blast with that one.
Heh. I was so busy looking at ML pics I forgot about the X-Men gallery. I'm kinda peeved by ToyBiz reverting back to the 90s with the insane notion that every character needs some sort of (mostly pointless) weapon. BUT. The new figures looks pretty cool. I'm definitely getting Iceman (now I can skip hunting down the ML release) for my Original X-Men. But how the heck are they releasing the three versions of him? Rogue looks good in her X-Treme costume. And it's a nice alternative to finding the ML boxset release. I might get Magneto if his backpack is removable. Can anyone tell if Colossus is the ML figure or entirely new? But someone at ToyBiz must be smoking some good crack, because that's the only reason I can see why they're repainting and re-releasing the 90s Sentinel figure. Don't get me wrong, I thought it was awesome when I was a kid (despite the faulty arm launcher), but it's just a horribly dated toy now. And will the modern toys even fit inside the chest cavity? I remember some of the 90s toys wouldn't even fit. And I noticed that the Wolverine that comes with the car looks like a two-handed AoA Weapon X in a black costume. And that's kinda disappointing, because that Wolverine looks good but I don't want the car.
Looks to at least be a new head and altered shoulders/boots. And here's some nice pics of most everything: http://generalsjoes.com/toyfair_06_gallery/toybiz/legends/index.htm Also, that new Iceman looks like Silver Surfer's body with ML8 Iceman's head on it...
http://generalsjoes.com/toyfair_06_gallery/toybiz/legends/pages/ironman_mandarin-2_jpg.htm He looks to be ML size to me... Could someone tell me more about these "Icons" figures...? Are they the same size as the MLs? EDIT: And that Daredevil/Kingpin two-pack is a must buy for me.
I'm quite pleased by most of these, minus Onslaught, which I've been vocal about him looking like shit. As of now Quicksilver has been cancelled. Time will tell if he's actually cancelled, or just cancelled like his Sister.
What the..? Well ain't that the damndest thing...my wallet just jumped up and ran off and is now behind the couch whimpering. I'll take most of waves 13-15; all the new Spider-Man villains (except for maybe the clear Venom..whatupwithat?); 'bout half the X-men classics/'movie' line; all the 2-packs, including the Cap/Skull and Kingpin/DD variants; FF classics and maybe some o' them 12" Icons. In terms of how much I'll be spending on what was shown, TB/Marvel just bitchslapped Hasbro.
I will definitely buy all of the Onslaught, Mojo, and Giant Man and most of Minion wave. Icon looks nice and I am digging Modular Iron Man but it's so big I may not have room for them. For 2 Pack I am getting Cap America/Red Skull for sure since I missed out on MLs of it. My wallet's gonna take a major beating this year. Time to find another job that pays more than my current one.
Psylocke looks great, I hope they don't change thing on her. Remolded Colussus, woo hoo, now I don't have to pay insane ebay prices for the original ML version. HOLY SHIT, did anyone see this smiley?
Ive just really gotten into the ML line. These new figures are AWESOME. I cant wait for the AOA wolvie and sabertooth.
Not sure if you guys have the seen the new House of M Marvel Legends boxset. If not, check it here. http://afigures.com/g/?mode=album&album=2006_Toy_Fair%2FToy_Biz%2FMarvel_Legends%2FHouse_Of_M_Boxset
Damn I'm gonna be so broke. The new X-Men stuff looks excellent, even if they do come with stupid gimmick weapons.
The HOM boxset looks cool, but I think they could've chosen a different figure than the thing. The Iron Man figure suffers from the same fault as the art that inspired it, too many damn panel lines.
