Yeah, those were pretty the mainstay design during the Lee/WP era. Another note, got the call for preorder game spidey...people are getting him on discount? Don't know but picking him up tomorrow.
Cracked open my Psylocke and Archangel today. Happy to say that Betsy is A-Ok. None of the reported paint issues, though she does have a blemish at the top inside of her right glove where it meets her bicep where a little paint got scraped or something. Not really noticeable though. And I don't like that psy effect piece that goes on her face. It just kinda sits there, doesn't tab into anything. Takes a little finaggling to get it in just the right placement. I actually had it spring off and fly halfway across the room. But it seems to stay in place once you get it on. I don't care for it though. Kinda silly looking and it obscures too much of her face. As for Archangel, man I love this fig. Got a couple issues with him. He's got the warped left knee that seems to be common. I really, really wish Hasbro would stop making the knee joint pieces out of that soft, gummy material. That's the biggest reason why figs have warped legs right out of the box. The two unmasked heads were very hard to peg on and off. Wasn't planning on using them anyway. And the masked Death head just did not want to go on. Felt like I was gonna break the neck ball if I tried harder, so I stopped. The wings are really nice looking, but a little looser than I'd like where they peg into the back piece that pegs onto his back. Not a floppy mess though. Really like this fig. Glad I went to the trouble of tracking one down.
Would be cool if Hasbro released a Nemesis Enforcer repaint/retool of Archangel in some sort of event exclusive.
Went to my LCS today with a bunch of store credit (from selling some older stuff a while back) and apparently someone sold them a lot of Marvel Legends. Went home with Spider-Girl, the Ms. Marvel from that 3-pack a while back, and Mole Man from the Fantastic Four Legends series. I honestly see if they do a Mole Man again in the line, they'll probably re-release this guy.
Out of all the marvel legends that I've gotten so far this year I keep picking up Thing. He's just so damn awesome and so damn near perfect I can't help myself from playing with this figure. Lol have you heard of our Lord and savior Been Grimm? I was watching a review for the 2nd vintage wave and one of the reviewers showed off using the Ben Reilly unmasked head on a Reed Richards body for a powered down Johnny Storm. I honestly hadn't thought of that. And it looked pretty good for a simple head swap. I may end up doing this myself.
Bend the neck joint all the way back before putting the Death Mask head on. That way you can use the neck as leverage and it shouldn't budge. Otherwise it'll be very hard to put it on.
should pick up storm and sabertooth from game stop today, so only gladiator away from a complete apocalypse. i might get gamerverse spidey if they have him when i get there.
Anybody want my claw, from Archangel? $8.50 shipped. I also have his leg from Psylocke. I also have a Cull head that I dont want for the same price. (Waiting it out for that sweet Select version) I need some fodder. Namely Walgreens Punisher accessories. How bad was your Spidered-Man's legs? Mine straightened up like a champ but, the lower knees got loose, and wont act right. Another big plus is, he came with two webs. I used them to hang my other dudes on the wall.
Mine were fine right out of the box. The only issue I have and I think it's just generally this mold but, the hips don't exactly lend themselves to Spidey poses as well as pizza or the ultimate bodies do.
That’s a rough one, best I could say is some floor polish and a tooth pick to help get it in the cracks
Does anyone know if the ML Sandman from Spider-Man 3 came with any accessories? That is, extra weapons/hands?
Local GameStop had three of the Gamerverse Spider-Man in, but were all reserved for people. Ah, well. If I don't get the figure, I'm fine with that. Truth be told, in terms of Spider-Man costumes I still want as figures, I'd like to see Hasbro make the Armored Spider-Man suit right now. I mean Toy Biz did it years ago, but with an annoying gimmick that reduced articulation, and Hasbro did one I believe for the smaller Marvel Universe line.
