Eh, nothing major where I think he's shit, but I'm not a fan of his yellow sleeve cuffs. Mine are a teeeeny bit too big so every move drops them down to his wrists. As I figured, removing his bandanna leaves him long necked, and his hair floating. I'm also not a fan of the mold they used for him, but as he's depicted as a larger guy, there aren't a lot of choices.
Maybe when someone figures out how to do the FF justice we'll see them return to their glory days... not holding my breath on that one.
It's sad that Disney made a better FF film than what we got from Fox. Actually... I didn't think the first one was bad and the second movie actually fixed the first film's mistake with Dr. Doom and gave us an awesome Silver Surfer. They screwed up Galactus though. Hard. I have faith in Fiege and his direction for the MCU so I'm sure something awesome will happen film wise. I was more talking about the comics themselves. The writers just don't seem to know what to do with them as a team anymore... and the fact that the roster hardly changes probably makes them stale to write for after awhile.
I don't want to talk about the Fox FF piles of shit, lol. But what you said about them is correct...Galactus was a travesty. As for the comics...will see how it goes. I haven't read the new comic yet. Someone will make something good sooner or later.
To be fair, he had Hulk beat until he had one of those "I'm Logan, not death" moments. But yeah, those were actually some fun years for the X-Men before the wannabe movie reset. Especially loved the whole X-Men Wolverine being a skrill and the powerless arc after The Twelve.
One of the main reasons I want a Wolverine as Death figure. From 94-98 I was waiting for Wolverine to get his adamantium back. I would also get a bone claws Wolverine figure...especially since I liked that issue where he took on Sabretooth(the issue where they were drawn fighting across the cover with a background painting by the Hildebrandt brothers as the background) and he popped the middle claw. I feel like Larry Hama developed Wolverine pretty well during those years. Plus we saw Leinil Yu start and overtime I felt like he was a good replacement for Adam Kubert.
For those who may not follow him, can of beams (canofbeams.com) will have some adapters for sale at 5 PST today for silver surfer and both of the most recent goblins (to attach the board and gliders to common stands). He makes quality stuff and these are pretty cheap.
So I went into a Walmart the other day and actually found a Red Skull amongst the army of snake men and Songbirds. I've been thinking about putting the head from one of the vintage Black Widows I picked up on clearance on the body.
Thanks for your feedback. I'm kind of conflicted on it. I also wish they used another body aside from the Sentry buck. I can see why people done like that buck.
I would buy the shit out of a bone claws Wolverine. I still have that issue you're referring to. Wolverine #90, right before Age of Apocalypse kicked off. I had a mail subscription to Wolverine, Uncanny, and X-Men way back when; I loved that cover more than many of the various holographic/embossed gimmick covers of that era. Simple but cool.
I had subscriptions during that time as well. Wolverine with no Adamantium kinda killed it for me, though... when he turned into a mush brain for a few issues. I really liked Cyber as a villain though ... couldn't stand Elsie-Dee.
Amazon finally put up a listing for Doc Ock’s at his normal price. Aaaand ordered. Today is a good day
It irritated me that it took so long for him to get the adamantium back but when he got it back, it seemed worth the wait. I think by then Marvel had lost a lot of readers(this was in the same era that the dreaded Clone Saga went on, the F4/Avengers got transported into another dimension or something...and then the ex Marvel Image guys came back to draw them) and tried to grab them back by revealing that Ben Reilly really was the clone after all and bringing back Norman Osbourne from the dead. That cover remains one of my favorites. Love how it looked ripped in half on the front. Immediately post-Fatal Attractions when he popped his bone claws out for the first time in the Danger Room, THAT was an epic splash page! I can see it as an exclusive now, Marvel Legends tiger stripe Wolverine with bloody paint apps and raging unmasked head, packaged with a backdrop of the Danger Room. You're welcome. GameStop has him for $22.99, FYE for $24.99.
Man, I can not believe how hard it is to find Silver Surfer. I went to some more new Walgreens today I've never been to before and they didn't have him either. One of them had several Sues though.
That was a great moment. It made sense there'd be bone under there, but having it dropped in there randomly over years that Weapon X added the claws too, or so Logan thought, made for a legit "Oh shit" when I saw/read that panel. I also felt terrible for Jubilee that issue. Within what, days in comic time(?), she got to watch Child Illyana waste away and die, and then see her best friend/father figure on the team decimated and leave. Those last panels where she reads his goodbye note always made me sad.
