Is the new Civil War T'Challa a reuse of the old Giant Man wave figure or a retool of the new body? I'll probably look for one. Just how vintage is Janet's vintage figure? Before or after the black and red with the shoulder pads?
For the same reason we need a bazillion Capt Americas and multiple Ant-mans. Hasbro knows people will buy it. Seriously... I thought we already knew that?
I'll say that wouldn't have been my first choice for a wasp costume but I like it nonetheless. Looks like a good head sculpt. Ant man is using the pizza Spidey buck of course, but that's fine. It's hard to tell is he has a new head sculpt or if it's the Walgreen's version. But they look nice. The little mini figures are a nice addition so at least they have an accessory. Well... As far as the bp wave 2. Yeah my hopes for what will be included seem about half and half with what we're getting. T'chaka looks great. I think in one of my previous posts my phone autocorrected to T'Challa. But anyways he looks great. I'm not excited for Ayo. She looks like a straight repaint of either nakia or okoye. Hard to tell but there may be a slight difference with the design on the part hanging in the front,(tunic?), And the forearms look a bit different as well. Klaw looks like he has a very nice head sculpt. That's pretty amazing to me. Again not that excited for a character who didn't have a whole lot of screen time or importance for that matter. But the arm looks great opened. Nice reuse of that body with a few new parts. At least I think it's that chameleon/coulson body. Not sure what's going on with the T'Challa. Looks like a reissue of the civil war version. It lacks butterfly joints in the arms so I guess they're doing this just to save money? Throw a new head sculpt or at least one that looks better than the one I got with both my MCU bp. Shuri slated for next year? I'm guessing a target two pack. That kinda blows but at least she's not a baf... Maybe. So far not really interested in this unless they throw us some good comic designs and a really nice baf.
On the Select front (not sure how much of this is news)... This somewhat tired Rogue Thor, the previously-revealed Iron Spider and a VERY respectable Teen Groot And the hero we've all been waiting for, Crotch-Chop Captain America! JUST DO IT!
Hunh, rereleasing Okoye(or is that a new fig?) as a normal part of the wave? What a nice FU to all the people that had to buy those unwanted comic figs to complete her the first go around.
I just hit the jackpot! Purple hair variant! Now, I just keep my fingers crossed that the one I get in the case I ordered is the black hair version. I'm glad the face looks a lot better in person than the old reveal pics...other than the pimple on the nose but I wasn't going to pass it up for that. Also saw the Winter Soldier/Falcon 2 pk, Gladiator, Venom and Carnage. Passed on all that stuff but the 2pk did look very good.
I got some quick pics in of MS10 Mark VII He's quite tall. Even a bit taller than Hulkbuster wave War Machine, which doesn't seem quite right. The Invincible Iron Man is still the better one for posing, but this guy's joints are a lot crisper than the average Marvel Legend. The diaphragm joint is maybe even a touch loose, though it may just be my surprise that the joint works at all. Moving on... Wasp is awesome. She's tiny, but not in an out of scale sort of way. Just kind of surprised me. I would have to see how she looks next to Scarlet Witch. Here's a close-up on the face. It's good, as usual.
Getting the Walmart Thing made me go back to my ML Shelf to dig-out the previous version ..........it's still not a bad figure. And that lead to dusting off Apocalypse.......and, well not every figure Toybiz did is now "bad" just because Hasbro have released a New One. I'll probably complete the Apoc BAF but this Guy isn't getting binned as a result.
I'm glad someone likes Vintage Ant-man, some one should. He looks too stretched and gaunt personally.
Got my first of the MCU 10th Anniversary figures today from Amazon. The box he is packed inside looks like it got run over by a truck but otherwise the figure is great. Probably my favorite of all my Iron Men.
Yeah, they showed them in package at the "brunch" event Hasbro does. We'll probably see the rest by the end of the convention.
What time is the actual Marvel panel this weekend? Over in Fwoosh they have a bunch of new Marvel stuff, including Ultimate Riders Deadpool (with Dogpool, Squirrelpool, and a moped) A grape-flavored repaint of Black Panther in his Vibranium Charged mode Killmonger in his Saiyan armor and mask (yes!) And now WITNESS MARVEL LEGENDS M'BAKU - FIRST HAND! I'm guessing he's the BAF, which makes me sad. But on the other hand, a lot of nifty releases here. And seemingly no comic figures in the assortment.
I hope we get more classic comic characters like X-Men and especially Thor...the latter is way over due! If they show classic Thanos and Adam Warlock I might explode...
