Ive seen that before, I think I even have it. My cousin bought it a long time ago, and left it in my basement one day and its missing most of its peices. Its neat, but it dosent really transform into anything real cool.

My daughter had a Lord Zurg that transformed into some type of tank.

If im not mistaken, there´s another transforming Buzz, and that Lord Zurg, IIRC, "combines" with that Buzz o_O

Also, i remember another transforming toy, based on the race car from the first part

Yeah, the remote control car turns into a "cosmic warrior." I remember that because it was on clearance in an outlet store. Still, could not be more of an homage. You know, I'd like to see pics.
