I should like these, but I just don't. The designs aren't bad, but it's missing.....something.

Personally, I think these need to be blackwashed.

They look too clean for "Beasts that do battle".

WOW, this thread has been silent since August of last year, hasn't anyone found these at TRU or local comic shops? I finally saw them in person last week, but didn't grab them at the time.

Now I'm thinking I might go back to that comic shop or ask at TRU if they have them, cause I'm really interested in the new Mini-Mates BB figures, it's a relatively small line so far, but even if it doesn't expand too much due to low sales I still think the figures are worth getting. They look fairly interesting, well designed and a decent upgrade from what we got initially in the 80's, modernizing series like Battle Beasts isn't that easy.

Sure the Beast Saga stuff from Takara seems to be more popular, but the Mini-Mates are more in keeping with how I always envisioned Battle Beasts.

Has anybody found or picked any of them up yet, are they liking them or what?

Nope... I really don't like the Mini-mates versions. The mostly "medieval animals wearing anime armor" totally misses out on what appealed to me in the original Battle Beasts. To me they were always angry little cyborg animal killing machines, not furries in costumes. Screw that noise.

Also I think Mini-Mates, while they've innovated here and there, are still limiting themselves by sticking to their core "brick" figure system. The Beast Saga figures FEEL like classic Battle Beasts in your hand. Sure they're a little bigger (so are our hands), but the materials, proportions and toughness are exactly the same. I'm just waaaay more excited about Beast Saga.

I've seen the Armorvor before. The sculpting is really nice, but it's a bit too generic. The body pretty much just looks like a kid version of the Master Chief, with a fox head stuck on top. The individuality and specificity of the Battle Beast sculpts, based on the type of animal, always added so much to each little figure.

These are like overstock from the previous release, not a new release, right?

Yeah these are older toys, must be a "Warehouse Find".

I preordered a bunch, except for the ones that had ridiculous prices.

The Crocodile looks to be a cool sculpt, too bad that one wasn't a part of the preorders.

Yeah it is a shame they didn't do a direct updates of a few. Like the two leaders in the Headmaster Cartoon.

I’m thinking about trying to figure out how to take the plungers out of the Beast Saga figures and gluing the blocks into their torsos. Anyone tried this?

Out of curiosity, is anyone looking for Beast Saga figures? I have all the original molds and the Battle Coliseum loose. I think 3 or 4 are missing weapons. I have MISB ones as well.

Not the liveliest of threads but nice to see some love for these, I can share some quick inventory pictures I took a while ago.

Has there ever been any companies trying to do 5-6 inch versions of battle beasts? I would be all in on even a 2 POA line like the original but in a 5-6 inch scale.

it blows my mind we don’t have more companies doing KOs of these guys
