Awesome! So glad they went for a good amount of articulation for the classics. Will be getting a lot of these.
Modern Line looks to be maybe 4 inch (doubt any company would give 6 inch or higher a playset other than Mattel) so the Modern Turtles could fit in with my TF's, while Classics looks to be in line with earlier TMNT Figures
I agree with this. I had that shredder preordered for the longest time. Still, I got those, and now it's nice to be getting more classic cartoon versions. Neca's were great comic representations. Well, really, unparralelled for TMNT toys.
all those articulated figures are so picked up, both classics and new. Both sets look absolutely fantastic and I'm really into the new designs, if this is what they look like in show I'm sold. Hope they do different releases with different headsculpts as well, as I'd like to have the option of a closed mouth on Raph. Really want that van and playset as well, though we'll have to see what kind of prices they run for. Edit: they need to go all out with the characters in the new show I want an updated Yojimbo, Rocksteady, Bebop and all the other 90's-ish crazy mutant animal designs. Oh and I wouldn't be opposed to the new series figures having opening shells to store extra accessories like a couple of the old figures did.
It almost feels wrong liking these new figures considering how fantastic the Neca figures are. I mean, not only are the Neca turtles the best TMNT figures, they are some of the best figures ever done for any line period. And yet I look at these new Classics and feel like there is plenty of room in my collection for them. The Neca can represent the comic book and the Classics can represent the cartoon. I guess there's always room for more Turtles. As a wise boy once said, "I like turtles."
I know what you mean, and I agree- they are some of the best toys I own. These are so different that I feel ok with liking them, especially being a fan of both the old cartoon and comics.
Actually when Kevin Eastman sold TMNT to Nickelodeon all action figure licenses were voided. So Neca couldn't sell those TMNT figures as their license was gone.
- Double-jointed elbows: Check! - Double-jointed knees: Check! - Ab articulation: Check! - Toe articulation: Check! These are the Turtles I have been waiting for!
The classics are crap. 6 inch scale , and try to be the animation models and the vintage toys at the same time. The new TV series figures look really good though.
My wallet is so fucked. First I decide to start collecting Transformers toys again and now these come out. These are must haves. The TMNT were my main line when I was a kid.
I figured they lost the license with the franchise changing owners but you'd figure if they bothered to make those new molds they at least try to reacquire the license again.
Modern. Classics. I want it all. And this is coming from someone who hasn't touched any turtle merch since the early 90s.
The Classics Turtles are 6 inch scale or 6 inches tall? What is the scale for the modern Turtles? More classics pics: http://geek-news.mtv.com/2012/02/01...mates-tmnt-classic-collection-action-figures/ I like both the modern and classics.
