Has anyone seen this 1990s pre-"TRON LEGACY" movie? (i need to improve it, i know, but this was stuck in my brain and needed to get out. I need to go back and edit out the middle girl, but i also need to get to work on time)
ive just picked up the Sam Flynn lightcylce and ive noticed on the instructions that it says you can swap heads....is this right? Ive noticed the figure on the bike has the neck post set so the rider is looking up and i assume you can add the better head from the proper figures? Also, is the bit that sits on the figure's back meant to activate the light-up feature on the other figures?
yes the heads can be swapped, but i would avoid it, clue's neck balljoint has been known to snap off. The piece on the back of the cycle is meant to be pulled up and let go, so it snaps back and hits the button on their back, activating it. Also having the figure in it activates more lights and sounds, but thats from the switch down by the crotch. Id also suggest getting the one man light-jet if you see them,my target has a ton for like $4, its a great toy.
Awesome photo, man - the perspective on that is great. I have the one-man lightfighter - mini-reviewed it somewhere in this thread - and still have it out. The light effects are quite good for what they are. There's still some TRON stuff lingering in my local Targets, maybe I'll go hunting for a lightcycle. And perhaps 4" Rinzler needs a minion.
Won an auction last week for the Tron: Evolution game packaging. All I wanted it for was the light cycle by Sideshow It lights up & is pretty well to scale with all the other light cycles. The best part? I got it for $11!!!
It's doubtful. We've known the show was coming since Legacy, which was released near the end of 2010. If a toy line was being made for Uprising, it most likely would have been shown at one of the toy fares or SDCC by now.
Nope, Tron toys are pretty much done until maybe a next movie. Spinmaster was supposed to do stuff for the videogame, but that never happened either.
they shot themselves in the foot with the legacy line thats why it didnt sell well. the light up features were nice but the figure barely have any articulation and they cost as much or more than a ML figure as of right now theres only one vehicle I need and its the normal light Cycle after I get that I doubt ill be buying anymore from the line
I ended up buying deluxe Clu. I really didn't mean to, but I just culdnt resist £6 on Ebay. Can anyone point me to a 'how to' for the neck mod please? Preferably one for dumb people with lots of pictures.
Nobody else ever done this mod other than that guy with 10 posts? I can't find any sign of it elsewhere on the net.
Have you checked over at tron-sector.com? I know there were a few mod threads for various figs and vehicles, but I couldn't say specifically which ones.
Yeah I've had a look, but so far all I've found are mods for the smaller figures. It doesn't help that they just have one 44 page thread for customising rather than splitting it up like we do.
I was under the impression this mod was only for the 12" version of CLU. I remember taking a look at my deluxe version after seeing the mod and deciding that it must be the larger CLU since the deluxe's helmet is molded as part of the neck. If you're interested in other Tron customs, here's the helmetless deluxe Sam I made a few months ago. I've since done a "Flashback" version of Tron using the 3" Rinzler toy and a Star Trek Nero's head, but I've been too lazy to post pictures of it anywhere.
I think you're right. I just got him in the post. From the front, it looks like he has a neck joint, but the back of the neck is a solid piece of plastic that is part of the back of his helmet. Ah well, still a pretty cool figure to have, even if it isn't particularly articulated. The gimmick is actualy pretty cool anyway and I'm convinced having a yelling Jeff Bridges face is better than having a ball-jointed neck.
Yeah, I never thought the gimmick was that horrible. It's damn clever actually, and the fact that they used the actual voices is great. Not many leader class Transformers can even claim that.
