went to Target again today & there was still nothing of the Series 2 line, not even one indication of it showing on the shelve stickers.
My phone strap arrived today: Clu's cycle is molded in black PVC with the details painted yellow, while the accompanying disc is yellow PVC with black paint. The photo doesn't really show it, but it's got very good detail, at least as good as the Spin Master diecast version. And even though this one is an inch shorter, it's got more accurate dimensions & proportions. Here's a pic of it with the other Spin Master versions: From lower left to upper right: Diecast, phone strap, Target-exclusive mini figure version. Also, I just found all the others on eBay from another seller, so I ordered all but the Sam figures for $32 shipped, huzzah!
finally found a Rinzler disk today, and picked up the Runner at Target for $14, Quorra does fit, just not well. No Kevin disk..
Finally spotted some of the new stuff in my area. Has anyone picked up the one-man lightfighter? There's something about that design I really like, but that one I do wish was in the smaller diecast size.
With this line doing reasonably well, I hope we see some Classic Tron Stuff too. (Larger Size Original Recognizer would RULE!)
It's part of the Series 2 diecast lineup, along with the 3-man jet & Grid Limo. TRU still seems to be carrying only Series 1 toys, but Target's had Series 2 vehicles & figures for about a month now. The larger Light Jet doesn't have any electronic sounds, but the engine & cockpit areas light up & I thgink it's well worth the $15 it retails for.
Ah, excellent. I've seen the limo on pegs, just none of the others. Not surprising they'd be snapped up; I suppose I just have to give it time. I've seen on the bigger vehicle sets where it says 'works with core figures' or somesuch. Which ones are the core figs - the 3.5" articulated ones?
Picked up a handful of things this weekend. I grabbed Rinzler and a Light Jet, which are both pretty cool. I'm a bit disappointed that the discs won't store on his back, but he looks cool. And he looks great on the jet. (I can't even get the included non-posable Black Guard to fit on it.) I also finally saw Identity Discs, and picked up all three. They're very cool, especially for $14, but man, that flexible vinyl on the edges STINKS.
I keep seeing the chatter back and forth...what do the discs actually do? Blinky lights, voice clips?
They have two modes. The first mode you press a button and it cycles through about 4 sound effects, essentially the in store demo mode. The second mode makes the disc impact sensitive. You hit against things and it lights up and makes noise.
Picked up the Runner sine Target is selling basically everything for $13.99 now. Pretty cool, wish Quorra fit better, but it works. Just need a decent Sam for it now...
I'm sorry to say the size is disappointing. How cool would it have been if the third seat actually slid into position like in the film? Still, I understand that this isn't like Star Wars where Hasbro can safely wager that a huge vehicle will sell, and it's easier for kids to actually fly it around. Overall it's decent, I'll get it and I hope it sells well. Hopefully we might get a Recognizer or a tank in the same scale.
got the 3man light jet today. Aside from the size, its kind of disappointing. no free figure, no batteruies, takes 3 AAA just to light up two little lights in front, that only stay on when you hold the button, no flickering, no staying on.
So, for some reason Canada isn't getting the deluxe Identity Disks. Have no idea why. Any chance anyone could hook me up with Sam's? PM me if you can help me out. Thanks guys!
Have you tried putting a figure (or figures) in? The one-man jet's lights only stay on if there's a figure in place.
