well except for an IM figure. but I went ahead and got one, my Gi Joe Beachead now has a ride lol my complaints for it is, I wish it came with some light effects to go behind it, there was a way to keep the lights on and I wish it had some lights in the back somewhere to make it looks a little more complete
Reading through this thread last night inspired me to stop by Walmart this morning on the way to work and pick up a Kevin Flynn light cycle. When I got home after work, I walked into the house to find my 5-year-old playing with a Kevin Flynn light cycle that his mom just happened to buy for him today! I'm still deciding whether to return mine or keep it for display in my office (since I can't steal my kid's). Here's a custom Tron-ish figure I made for my son for Christmas to go with the light cycle he got: Now that he has a second cycle, I just finished cobbling together the leftover parts into another figure.
Which figure is that body from, one of the movie Joes? The upper legs work really well! I had a similar idea to custom a Tron, and so far all I've done is stick a Rinzler head on a Marvel Universe Havok body. But it's still got better proportions than the Spinmasters figure.
I cant really find anything the kevin flynn cycles are the only thing my local WM has. I think it all went to clearance and was gone after that cause it was there after christmas then all of a sudden everything was gone oh and...
Aside from the current Target sale & the TRU sale a week or two ago, I don't think any of the toyline's been discounted since they first started appearing. I've been checking multiple stores daily, especially Target (for their "exclusive" Baton/Lightcycle thing to go on clearance) and for awhile all I could find regularly were core Sam figures & Flynn's Lightcycle. Now, most everything seems to sell & restock & sell again, and the only things I can always find are the deluxe Black Guard & Rinzler.
took control of that target sale and picked up sams cycle and kevins identity disc and they are both well were the 15 dollars
Jeez, as time goes by it really looks like I bet on the wrong horse with the big Rinzler. Crappy articulation, inability to hold his discs, matte-black helmet... Is the small version really worth the almost $10?
I hope the line stays around, Gotta grab a 2nd-gen lightcycle, rinzler and maybe clu's cycle, the die cast jets and buggy.
I'll definitely buy that Tron, but that Black Guard's a laugh. The thing about the core figures is that their chest plates are molded in whatever color their respective light-up color is (blue, orange, yellow) and then painted black over all the parts that aren't supposed to light up. Basically, you can already make that Black Guard with some paint thinner. At least with Tron, it's a logical re"paint" that you couldn't already do yourself without killing the light-up feature. I wonder what other figure(s) might be in this 3rd series? Castor's still not out, despite him being on the Series 2 cardback photo. I'd kinda like to see unmasked versions of Quorra, Clu & Tron, but that Flynn head sculpt wasn't very good. The small figures are pretty much the same in terms of articulation. I think the hips have a bit wider degree of movement, but the knees are still what keeps them from being posed in any dynamic stance.
Maybe they will make a helmetless one and market him as "Flashback Tron" or "Pre-Rinzler TRON" and sell him alongside a figure of Flynn before Clu took over. I think they would want to stretch this line out as far as they can to get as many different toys out as they could. I wouldn't be surprised if we have many different toy variants of one character.
NEWS BIT: -Movie-Accurate Sam Flynn repaint (more movie accurate by sporting exposed fingers and a clear blue helmet): Amazon.com: Tron 3" Core Figure - Sam: Toys & Games -It should also be noted that the "Series-1" figures (Clu, Rinzler, etc.) packed in with "Series-2" figures (Quorra, Jarvis) are "repainted" with colors more accurate to what's on screen in the film. For example, Clu's paint and plastic details are no longer a "fly yellow" color, as he is now more of a "yellow-orange" color. -Spinmaster reps have confirmed that we are getting an unmasked Quorra figure in a future wave. Castor is on the way too. Also, -New items listed (as out of stock) on Target's web site: -Then there is this concerning the 3-man jet: At £29.99, that puts it at around $46 USD currently with the conversion rate. That's gotta be a big jet.
it would have to be big to be in scale. i wonder if it will come with un possable sam kevin and quorra to ride in it?
