Wow, I'll sell mine for a whole lot less than that. Anyone know if BBTS's are "new old stock" or did they buy a collection or something?
I had to wonder about that too.....Got my Red Lion today! Updated the blog entry for the Voltron Lions on my blog with in package pictures. Now I await Black Lion with Keith!
I just noticed today that every version of Voltron has a white or silver dot right above the eyes. Does anyone know what that's for?
Yeah, been there since the Godaikin Golion days, i don't recall it having any tactical use in the anime. Probably just aesthetic. But with the recent comics giving Voltron semi-mystical origins it may be something 3rd eye related... i can only speculate.
It was some sort of power conduit in the cartoon. Near the first episode, a robeast with sword came close to stabbing it. Keith said they were done for if it got stabbed.
Really? Cool. Good to know. I thought Voltron didn't even form until episode until Episode 4 when the space mice finally gave up the missing key to Black Lion...
I got my Black Lion today. I tried transforming it without reading the instructions and broke the spring in one of his right legs. I don't recommend this for everyone to do, nor do I think most people will try but I unscrewed the leg and tried to put the spring back in. Putting a deformed spring was so hard, I put the spring in the little hole on the leg and then on the body to use as leverage to tighten it until it could fit back in the groove. The auto transform still works now but sometimes the leg won't unfold.
But can you manually flip out the Black Lion's legs? I don't mean to post this but shouldn't you have at least gone over the instructions at least once? Especially since Mattel is infamous for their poor QC in this line and other collector line? You should have also factored in that this is probably Mattel's first foray into a 'robot' toy? They are not as experience as compared to Bandai Japan or TakaraTomy or Hasbro. The last factor is the cost. If you picked it up on the secondary market it should have been pricy and if that being the case, caution should have been the norm.
*Double post Anyway tonight I'm going to a friend's place to see him unbox his lions. I'm not convinced on them despite buying them.
Seriously, how could Mattel have made such an horrible error with Quality Control on this line???? At least the Series has decent packaging for those who want to keep it in package.
Well, sure, except for the greasy fingerprints all over the inside of the packaging and that it isn't even sealed so over the years your toy is still exposed to the elements, dust, etc.
Got my Red and Green Lions unboxed tonight, not bad to me....course was late night needed something to do so decided to open them. Was planning to wait till Black Lion got in. Green and Red Lions look decent.
I've heard of this happening to other lions as well, not just the Black Lion. Sorry to hear this happen to yours. Wow! I love how that turned out. If only Mattel put in that kind of love for these lions. That's because Voltron knows about all the QC problems this line has had.
Of all the lions, the black lion's leg have the least chance of popping out. As a result, it's difficult to manually flip them out. Whenever I fold the legs before I line up the red chest pieces, the legs get stuck and I have to wiggle them out. Not on topic but I saw a cool fan mode in this month's Voltron comics. You can create a flight mode for the black lion by flipping out his wings.
