I just got mine, and I'm in Indiana. Both figures are really nice, and the legs are fine. Can't wait to form Voltron!
Yes I am thinking about it, but it seems that I am too late unless I go to ebay and pay a lot more or it Mattel reissues the red lion. Yeah, I would love to see the Voltron Force toys have that combination choice as well. But Mattel does not like taking risks to the point of paranoiah.
Same here, dude but I'm so wary of the spring gimmick. I can fore seeing myself getting pissed off when the legs keep popping out when I'm fiddling with Voltron. Another issue is the cost...with the amount of cash to get Voltron, I can get other stuff. E.g. TFC's Hercules aka Devastator or Jetwing Optimus etc. On the other hand, I could be passing up a chance to get possibly the biggest Voltron toy ever!
Yeah... it's a great time to be a collector. Horrible time to be broke & have to make financial decisions on what to collect if anything.
yikes.... that cant be a good sign. I'm in NJ. But i put my club order in on day one so maybe they are filling the orders by pre-order date. Mattycollector is notorious for screwing fans over from what i've heard on the Master of the Universe line. Hopefully history won't repeat itself.
i got an emai saying it was shipped with a link for tracking on 2/15. Took 8 days from Canada to New Jersey.
Are you guys reading Ontario, CA as Canada instead of Ontario, California? Lions should be shipping from Ontario, California. Mine came UPS and took about one week from the day they sent it.
Yeah. Your right. Matty tends to use several shipping services, seemingly at random but probably based on which carrier is cheapest in regards to final destination. Not that shipping logistics make much sense to me. I bought something from Barnes & Noble last week and their free shipping saw my package through FOUR different carriers on it's way from Indiana to Minnesota. DHL, UPS, some carrier I've never heard of, and finally USPS. I wouldn't be surprised if the carrier I didn't recognize was a pack mule.
See, I feel the exact same way. Very true. But even in good financial position, there is a LOT of stuff coming out lately, and some of it is either pricey up front, or will add up quick. I subscribe to the MOTU (He-Man) Classics which is $20 per figure, and sometimes they release 2-3 figures per month. In addition, I primarily collect Transformers and they range from $5-40 a piece depending on size class. Then there is the upcoming TMNT line that is going to rock for sure. Six inch Classic Turtles are going to be $15 a piece, much like the Thundercats 6" figures. And then there's Lego ... Lego is freaking expensive. Either I sacrifice a line that I like or go broke. The spring gimmick and size are the two main factors that concern me. Springs fail over time. Mattel would have saved money and these Lions would have costed less to buy if the legs were just ratcheted. A few bucks is a few bucks. And while a 2-foot tall Voltron is impressive, where am I going to put him? At the same time, I would like a new version of the Lions/Voltron. Argh!
Got my red lion today!! Impressed with the size, less impressed with the paint apps and the cheap stickers. Will make for an awesome Voltron though, that's for sure! Too bad there's no die-cast or chrome, but in this case, I can live with that. Funny how the box says "INSTANTLY TRANSFORMS INTO VOLTRON'S RIGHT ARM!" when that's just the opposite...
Ha! Makes a nice vehicle for Cyberverse Prime. And yeah, that's funny how they word the transformation on the box. I wonder if they originally planned for the spring-action to work that way, to spring the legs into folded position. I think that would have been even more problematic.
Picked up my Red Lion yesterday, overall he's pretty cool. BUT, just looking at that arm makes it all worthwhile. Anyone else thought of contacting reprolabels to see if they could make a set of stickers to replace the Mattel ones? Or at the very least add the number insignias? Might need to pick up some Go-Lion dvds.
