Very nice! I've had Artille on backorder for some time from HLJ, although I suspect it may well be over a year before I can get her (if she doesn't slip into "discontinued" at any rate). Also, something seems off about that one panel where Huffer and Smolder (love the joke about the fact both their names could be attributed to use of illegal drugs) transform. It looks like most of Huffer's robot mode is covered up by the layer Smolder's vehicle form is on. The result, as far as I can see, it that I am having a hard time getting focus on Huffer because he's broken up in an odd way thanks to Smolder.
Speaking of there being a long time between things, Are you ever going to follow up on that fight from the end of the MK. 2s' review?
ACO Review in the Box Presents: Figma Lynette Bishop Notes: 1. I've been playing around with GIMP for editing my photos instead of Adobe Photoshop Elements, which is why my speech bubbles look much nicer than what I've been doing before. The effects I'm still working on, such as motion blurrs, but the head explosion I pulled off for Sentinel? Perfect. 2. Sentinel is like Rasputin in that I kept hitting roadblocks in figuring out the best way to kill him off. Long before what finally happened at the end of this "Review", Sentinel was supposed to die at one point or another in the following ways: -Death by Requiem Blaster (used to open the package, Sentinel naturally gets caught in the blast) -Death by Fluttershy (Sentinel hates organics, so what happens when the Western Animation answer to the concept of 'moe' appears and he can't rationally or even irrationally hate her even though she's supposed to be an organic? His head explodes.) -Death by Aveo Sniper (Aveo stole Lynette's rifle and used it as an awesome sholder cannon to headshot Sentinel) -Death by two Lugnuts using the P.O.K.E. (scratched because the P.O.K.E. never actually kills anybody whenver it actually is used) -Death by DOTM Megatron (thinks it's Movie Sentinel, scratched because the death would have been too drawn out in the middle of the review) -Death by Yoshika (go watch Strike Witches Episode 8, Season 2, and replace the big blimp neuroi with Sentinel as the target of Yoshika's anger) -Death by Mindwipe (brought in to act as a Neuroi stand in, kills Sentinel because that's what Mindwipe thought he'd really been brought in to do) -Death by ROTF Bludgeon (scratched because my Bludgeon's hand actually broke so he couldn't hold the sword anymore, fixed it up so he's good as new but it took the whole weekend) -Death by ACO (our beloved reviewer can only take so much of his companion...) 3. I have no idea what Pol's plans are with these little scenes that take place after the reviews that hint at ACO being part of something bigger, but I wanted to do one that involved at least one "watcher" who at least didn't want ACO dead. I also brought in the stoner film crew as being undercover protectors of ACO simply because Huffer and Smolder need more love from the camera. I ran the whole thing by Pol for his approval first, though, so be sure to check with him before you use any of his characters involved in his many, many plotlines.
She can actually come pretty close to matching the pose from that youtube shot you posted, if you switch her to a different grip on the rifle (bring her left hand across her chest, and grab onto the secondary handle; you may have to bend it slightly to ler her hold it, but it's made of softer plastic so that shouldn't be an issue, and you'll probably want to get the hand onto the handle first, then plug it into the wrist connector when everything's more or less in position): As a side benefit, this better matches the grip used in the pictures I can find of people actually using the rifle back in WWII (although those are all shown prone and using the unipod support, but, well, it's Strike Witches; a girl holding a massive sniper rifle up without the support is going to be the least of your problems if you can't suspend your disbelief): She can also almost perfectly match this exact pose, if you find her something to lean on, with the exception of the issues leaning her head back that Autobot Burnout mentions (she looks decent enough if you just lean her head as far back as possible, then to the side to align her right eye with the sights, though):
Nice reveiw. Wish I had a camera & ACO to review my Figma Ayanami Rei... But alas, the cameras I have access to won't capture the faces right... Doesn't help that I haven't seen any EVA. I could sub my other Animated 'Bots in for ACO if I had to... Actually did that for my reveiw of FansProject's Explorer/ Blast Off & Munitioner/ Swindle, which wound up integrated into my comic (as Chapter 1), instead of posted here, as I had originally intended. I actually partially remember some of those plot threads... Wish Pol would start explaining some...
Well, with the way things went I couldn't work a booby grab in, but I at least had ACO reference Yoshika's tendency to do that at the end, plus the booty shot of the shift: bodies sort of makes up for that. I thought about trying that, but even with the idea she's got slightly superhuman strength, that would put almost all of the weight and recoil force onto Lynette's firing arm, and the Boys rifle was notorious for causing all sorts of minor injuries in the sholder area because of the recoil force. That, and the fact I think having her non-firing arm be farther up on the gun looks more natural. Still, it's nice to know she can be slightly more accurate in the flying gun pose with the exception of where her left hand is. Huh. Didn't think of that. That actually makes the one time where she's got the animal ears/tail and not flying (with a Striker or broom) somewhat possible with the figure. Thanks for sharing Well, he kinda did that in the show anyway, since we can't exactly say he didn't avoid causing trouble for Optimus. With the ACO from these reviews? I dunno, I just needed a reason for Sentinel to die. I got mine MISP for $45 shipped, so if you keep looking you're bound to find one you can afford. I have no idea what you mean by "EVA", but in terms of getting the faces clear in the photos, you shouldn't have that much issue with that if you have a camera from the last five years or so. A lot of the clearest pictures in this review (most of them in the Avo/Sentinel quick battle and at the very beginning) were obtained by messing around with the macro feature and using stands (save for one or two shots at Sentinel, which were taken by me standing up due to location). For the review portion, I actually have an ameteur lightbox set from which I use the high-intensity lights and some custom-built light defusers (made from K'Nex, scotch tape, and kleenex) which provide just the right amount of light for my camera to get clean shots. To see the effect the diffusers have, compare the quality of photos from my Yoshika review (no diffusers) to my Lynette review (with diffusers). And as for the ACO figure, if you can get Fansproject Crossfire Bruticus sets, finding a decently priced complete ACO online shouldn't be too hard.
EVA is a common abbreviation I've seen for Neon Genesis Evangelion, the anime Rei was in. Uh, I use my Camera Phone for my comic, & my dad's proper digital camera may be from 2003, if not earlier. & lighting here is terrible. My review was shot in the one room w/ decent lighting -- which would be overhead, not shining at her face -- w/ dad's camera (so it'd be clearer), but it doesn't capture Rei's faces. I may try again in there some time, to get something for the facial expressions I can 'shop into the comic. No money means I can't get one. I also don't pay after market prices for TFs I passed on at retail. I also don't have any credit cards (by choice) to make online purchases. I got FP Swindle & Blast Off at TFSource w/ the last of my money (was expecting to get more), who accept checks. Hopefully, by Januaray I have money again. Would be able to get a better camera then, too.

Sucks about the paint-rubbing. You'd think they WOULD try to fix that after the previous two, though.
Should be fixed now. Lynette doesn't have paint rub. Although I do agree that considering how bad the paint rub with the brown on Yoshika's gun, MF would have used a different paint type to avoid that problem. At the very least I didn't have to put tape inside the strikers again, it was hard enough on Yoshika's, Sanya's would have been a nightmare!
