So, now that I have Thanos, Cap & Iron Man Mk.50 in hand, and Widow pre-ordered... I kinda want to get the Infinity War versions of Dr. Strange & Star-Lord now. I've passed on the earlier versions of each, and I just like the colors & overall look more of the IW versions. Is Bluefin distributing these here in the U.S.? I'm mainly hoping to find Dr. Strange for around $80 if possible. Hoping anyone has any online recommendations.
Bluefin isn't distributing IW Star-Lord or Strange. I'm guessing because the previous versions are still plentiful on the market and the differences are minimal.
I don't see how to justify IW starlord. Hell, I don't even think the mold is good enough for retail if you don't have the prior release. It's a pretty average SHF at best I could justify strange if bc of the slingring effect and the copy spell
Are the faces not compatible? I thought they were making this new Goku that was 100% compatible with everything the previous Goku had.
Would be nice but I asked about the same with the different versions of vegeta and apparently that was not the case either
Came across a $43 Ken on eBay. Ended up buying one. I was planning on picking one up at SDCC, but I think saving over $20 is the better route even if the box may get damaged during it's transit. I also bought some bootleg flame and aura effect pieces to go with Goku Black some days ago. They're only effect pieces so I don't really care if they're not authentic. Anyways, the plastic was very hard compared to some authentic ones I had a while back. My only gripe with the one I got was that the aura piece was made a bit crooked. The aura wasn't to my liking due to that and it's size. I ended up combining the aura effect pieces with some hot glue. I'm gonna end up painting the whole thing when I'm done.
Looks good. Those effect pieces are pretty versatile. I used and combined the two smaller pieces of a yellow version aura set to create the Flash Kick effect for Revoltech SFO Guile. Works pretty well.
I don't remember seeing kid Kuririn with the "modern thin look," I hope he won't look too weird. I wish they'd went for the original chubby look for him and Gokuu though.

I've found that Marvel Star Lord works well. The SHF is pretty average. Maybe they'll get me with Av4 Star Lord. Dr Strange is a go. The Legend is over priced online and the SHF is pretty nice. The flame effects are cool on the Dr Strange version, the colors are only slightly different. The IW version has one more magic effect and no flames. You can get the Dr Strange movie version for 72 on Amazon Prime. Free one day, that's how I got mine.

The original version of Dr. Strange does seem to be the better value in terms of what you get, but I do kind of have my heart set on the Infinity War version's more vivid colors (I also like the look of the fingerless gloves more, too.) I found an online store, Megalopolis Toys, that still offers the IW version for under $80, but I'm also going to check my local anime store just in case. As for Star-Lord, I agree that both SHFs are average figures, but I still think they look better than the Legends versions (which I somehow ended up collecting despite my best efforts, lol.) The Legends still have kind of a "comic adaptation of the movie" look to me, and I'd like to just put together one comprehensive Infinity War collection with the same aesthetic running through it.
I'm biased as a Cap fan, but if it's a flat $50 I'd say go for it. Otherwise you might as well wait for Barnes & Noble to get in the one with effect parts & hope for a 30% coupon.
