Mother of god. Its beautiful.

Sadly, $100+ is more than I will ever be able to justify for a toy

The nerd in me rages. This appears to be based on MGS4 Rex, given all the rust.
WHY IS THE RAIL GUN STILL THERE?

Because I think there'd be even more nerd rage (I know I wouldn't approve) if Rex didn't have a rail gun. It's sort of a mix of MGS1 and MGS4 Rex, with all the armaments and goodies but without the factory fresh paint.

Who knows, maybe it's removable.

EDIT: it looks like it's got a lot of influence from this old artwork from one of the MGS Art books:

Edit: And by "a lot" I mean, "It's tan". Mostly an excuse to post that picture
Stupid photobucket keeps tacking on an extra 10k to any image I put on it, dammit.

It's absolutely ridiculous that it's taken this long to make MGS figures of the actual mechas. I mean, for god's sake, the title of the series is called METAL GEAR. I hope they continue to release more stuff like Ray and the Gekkos.

If somehow they manage to make this thing around 200 bucks, I don't think i'd be able to resist. That's more than i've paid for anything remotely toy related, but for Rex... i'd probably do it. Higher chance if they give it the original paint scheme.

Those hoping for a gunship grey version may get their wish. It's all good to me, no matter.

There are actually two Metal Gear Ray figures.

one by Yamato

and one by Macfarlane

The Macfarlane is better looking in my opinion but it's divided into parts and split between the MGS2 figures.

Probably going to be too much for me but damn do I want one. Rex and the Shagohod are my favorite MGs from the series.

My local Toys R Us has the MediCom Toy MGS Collection #2 Ultra Detail Figues in. Stickered as a Trus exclusive they were $15 (although theres a 2nd barcode that rang up as spring toddler or something for $9ish). I ended up getting Naked Snake in Tiger Cammo. Series 2 has MGS 4 Raiden, Vamp and Old snake. MGS3 The Boss and Naked Snake. No Vamps at my Trus and the two Old Snakes were clear. Eventually I'll get The Boss and MGS4 Raiden, $15 is a bit much for what they are for me.
sevendead on Steam, Origin, and PSN as well.
