Toys R Us sent me an email about them. People calling up the Target I work at constantly asking for them/them almost always being out of stock/us having a sign up saying only 4 per customer, etc.
Seriously the hell is the big deal with these things? I've seen 'em, I see what they do and all, but really...how did that become the big toy of the holiday season this year? Is it that kids get the "fun" of having a hamster without the biting and floor shitting?
Really glad I grew up the decade I grew up in.

And none of the satisfaction either.
Because most of the fun owning a pet is when they do something extremely silly and funny, and the companionship, none of which you get from an electronic pet.
I can understand it for families whose kids want pets but don't have the time to take care of them, but really, I think it's a bad thing. It's objectifying the idea that pets are for Christmas and not life. Quote: |
