New Movie GI JOE toys

I've seen the New Joe toys "Worst toys Ever!!" Cobra commander looks really strange and grotesquse. I guess I'm an original. The only thing that I'm interested in is the Cobra Night Raven. Any thoughts?

I agree, but with no new Modern Era figures (save for internet exclusives) I broke down and bought one. The vehicles on the other hand are nice. Once you remove the gaudy decals and give them proper drivers they could make excellent stand-ins.

I'm very disappointed in CC. I'm only going to pick up the Night Raven.

I was kind of surprised that they made CC so different while keeping most of the other characters so 'classic' looking.

Aside from that, the figures look like regular Joe figures to me. Snake Eyes and Stormshadow look like some of the best renditions I've seen.

Anyone know if there is going to be a pre-chrome Destro figure?

In the SDCC set, though it has a swappable chrome mask.

To know why CC is different, read the prequel novel, or wait for flashbacks in the film. It is a real cool take on him. It involves the baroness too. I like the new continuity. I didn't think it could be anything but laughable, but they made it work and I've been grabbin em all.

I think the regular Snake Eyes sucks. His Visor is clip on and HUGELY out of proportion. And that dumb mouth. I did see a "Paris Pursuit" Snake Eyes today though, and bought it. MUCH better figure. The visor is proportioned well and it has no mouth/lips. Cool trechcoat, too. Recommended.

I also got the Ice-Viper and the Eel. Both are neat. Aside from the modern-era Para-Viper repaint (best modern-era figure ever, hands down) I'm done, I think, unless a really slick Viper comes out that I haven't seen yet.

Excellent! I should be able to make a nifty little Ninth Doctor out of him.

Bought 3 figs so far. Snake Eyes with the trench coat, Armored Scarlett and a Neo-Viper. All awesome figs.

I skipped the rest, though. Baroness and CC are ugly. The rest is Meh. I'm on the fence about Reflective armor Duke. I think it's his big head that kills it for me.

I still need to find an Ice Viper and an Elite Viper. Possibly an Eel too.
