It still says "Buy Now" on the front page pic of him, though. JARODIMUS Newest Addition(s): TF:RotF Fearswoop & Soundwave ("Gathering at the Nemesis"). |

Collectors and kids really had no choice to either buy Ramblow Heman or Craplow Sketelor, causeing this line to fail. And I think the reason Mattel did the very short promotion for the Moss-Man mail away was to move figurs that were shelfwarming
2002 line was fantastic but Mattel is so stupuid they ruined a perfectly good line, probably the best. I mean its not that hard to figure out how to make perfect case ratios, hell a monkey can do it.
and I dont know what happen to the Necas statue line. I only own wave 1 and 2, and never got into it. | Yup, it was the case ratio that killed the line. There was a skit which Matty blamed his evil "faker" twin for the bad case ratios in one of the shows - I think I saw it on facebook? Quote:

Skeletor took less than a month to sell out which had a limit of 5 I believe. Stratos is where they began selling 10 per order. Perhaps they used the hype on this line at this moment to sell a less popular character, which seemed to work. | Yeah, I recall there was a limit for 3 He-man and Beast-man and they were available for months. I'm just surprised that it Skeletor and now Stratos sold out within days! |

I'm sure Merman will be well worth the wait however. |

#30 | | Protectobot Join Date: Jul 2002 Posts: 1,287 Location: Little Rock, AR | The case ratios in and of themselves didn't kill the line, and the reasoning behind it was actually solid: He-man and Skeletor were the main characters, they're likely to be more popular, so make more of them.
There are at least 5 ways to make He-man and Skeletor more readily available than the second-string characters:
1. Pack the cases with a higher ratio of He-mans and Skeletors
2. Include a new variant He-man/Skeletor in each wave
3. Include He-man/Skeletor figures with vehicles/playsets
4. Supply He-man/Skeletor variants in a deluxe figure price point
5. Supply He-man/Skeletors in store exclusive 2-packs
Doing any one of these really would be good business-sense for Mattel. The problem is Mattel did all five! |
