Not sure if anyone posted but I didn't see it.

Found them today at TRU. They only had Iron man, Spiderman, X-Force Wolverine, and Torch left. Got IM of course. But went on TRU.com and they had the others so I got Stealth Iron man as well. They look okay but for the 7.99 price tag, I'll be passing on the rest.

I also spotted the Wolverine and the X-Men figures. Same deal, not impressive for the cost but okay.

I don't think there is a MU discussion thread, and therefore in the interest of burying ToyArk.com spam, I nominate this thread, and bump it! Oh, and add to the discussion.

    Rip-off? Please elaborate.

I think MU figures are just as high quality as GI Joes. They are certainly better quality than the not-so-hot DC Infinite heroes figures. They're also only $1 more than the DCIH, at least at the stores where they've been sighted so far (Meijer and TRU).

Personally I am really looking forward to wave 2, I think that they need more villains though. Seriously, only Bullseye and Green Goblin in the first TWO waves? What the heck?

they are a rip off as there are no accessories in many cases and no display stands.

    Although i do want IM...

...? Are you looking at the same figures I am? Also, if anyone is an offender for no accessories, it is DEFINITELY DCIH, the only figure I've seen with any accessories is Green Arrow, and if he didn't have his bow, he wouldn't be freaking Green Arrow!

    Spider-Man: Webbing and filecard, etc.
Iron Man: Repulsor Blast, filecard, etc.
Black Panther: Halberd (and he doesn't even USE one really!), and filecard, etc.
Wolverine: Gun and Muramasa katana (again, doesn't really use the gun much does he? but he still has it!) and... you get the idea with the etc.s.
    Daredevil: Nunchaku
    Human Torch: Flame thingy
Punisher: Rifle, Bazooka/Rocket Launcher, and Pistol
    Silver Surfer: Surfboard
    Bullseye: Gun and shiv/knife
Green Goblin: Goblin Glider and Pumpkin Bomb
    Captain America: Shield
    Ronin: Sword and Nunchaku
Iron Fist: plasticy Irony Fisty thingy
    Hulk & Grey Hulk: Nothin'

So... two whole figures without any accessories makes for a line that has "no accessories in many cases"? Oops.

    Why are you catching feelings?

Compare the accessories to GI JOE from the same company. I'd happily pay 8.99 for these if the came with a stand and interchangeable heads or the repulser blasts/webbing/energy thingies.

The accessory distribution amongst characters are inconsistent in the line and this is why people view them as rip offs.

DCIH comes with nothing and are 6.99 in my area. These are 8.99.

8.99? When was that said? In his post, on TRU.com and every other place they are $7.99. Wanna talk rip-off. Have you seen the DCIH sculpts? Those should be $3 maybe $4 at most.

Got Iron Man and Wolverine, Iron Man's right knee swivel(not the hinge, but the part that rotates above the knee ball) is loose! On mine that is.

Neat figures, ab motion on these is far superior to that on the 25th joes. Quality wise, these blow away Superhero Showdown. These blow away DCIH by a long shot.

I don't like the $8 price point either. A 6" figure is ~$11. These 3.75" figures are (I assume) cheaper to make, package, ship, store, and display. What all this tells me is that Hasbro and their retail partners aren't passing the cost benefits on to the consumer in the form of lower prices.

I assume that one of the reasons for the transition from the 6" Marvel Legends line to the 3.75" Marvel Universe line is that the Legends weren't selling in acceptable quantities. So I assume that part of the rationale for the new line is to try to lower prices and get more product moving - i.e. people see the lower price point, feel they're getting a better value, and buy more of them. But at $8 a pop, I don't see that happening. And the recession is no excuse, either, IMO. Keeping prices high during recession doesn't make economic sense to me - if demand is already soft, high prices won't help.

    ::sigh::

I only want the various incarnations of Iron Man they bring out. I prefer ML but the prices are far beyond what i am willing to pay for a 6" figure now.

I'm used to having to pay $10-$15 CDN for GI Joes so the prices on these don't bother me that much at this point. :lol  Hoping I can find some locally soon.

I'd love to see that happen. I'd also love to see the "knee-bros" completely eradicated from future figures.

I found some of these on Sunday. Bought Wolvy, Spidey, and Daredevil.

They are much nicer than I had expected. I will definitely have to keep a look out for more.

I haven't seen any so far, hopefully I do/don't find them soon. It'd be nice to have X-Force Wolverine. Do love that color scheme.

I like the look of these, and I'm rarely one to harp on prices, but I get rather sad when I look at these and then think back to 7 or so years ago when the Marvel Legends figures were first hitting, born out of the Spider Man Classics line. I could go into a WalMart or Target and buy one for $4.99 or $5.99. Big figure, lots of detail. More articulation than I had ever seen. Comic Book. A stand. All for less than one of these new Joe-sized Marvel Showdowns 2.0 figures. I'm not hating on them, I actually quite like what I see and look forward to buying a few, and I understand the price increase. But that doesn't make me any less sad to think about what once was... :(

The only figures in wave 1 that have single jointed knees/"molded" knees (It's what Hasbro calls that joint, I think. At least from their mock-ups of some future SW figures, that's what it's called.) are Iron Man, Black Panther and Punisher (god what an awful head...) right? For Hulk and Grey Hulk, I can see why they're doing it, though.

I really wish Hasbro would just use GI Joe articulation for all of their lines. It would be awesome!

That was in response to the guy talking about ML 6" figures.
hy they're doing it, though. Works well on MU Hulk and other big characters, but not for small characters.
    That would rule.

Does anyone know the price point for these at Target/Wal-Mart is going to be? I wanna hit my TRU but I'll be willing to wait til they release them there if I can save at least $1+ per figure. A dollar ain't much but it adds up!
