That is Hasbro doesn't own the factory, Hasbro doesn't employ the workers, and Hasbro has no direct control over their employment practices.

They simply sub-contracted to make the toys for Hasbro. Any employment or safety issues (such as the lead paint scare from last year), is the responsibility of the actual Chinese owners.
Though I was informed that last year the government-controlled Chinese media attempted to shift the blame for the lead paint scare to the western companies. Unfortunately one of my chinese friends actually believed it and was all patriotically angry at the west  |
