A new Roadbuster (of sorts)

CM's corp is making a Brave Gokin (diecast) Mugen Calibur figure, aka the original "Roadbuster", for those with a taste for the design. Some promo photos have finally shown up:

Sort of TF news, sorta not . Feel free to give it the boot if necessary.

I remember seeing pictures of this thing a while back. Last I knew they're also making a "Whirl" figure. These look like new images though, as I don't remember actually seeing the alt-mode in the older pictures. With the right head and paint scheme this would make for an interesting Masterchief figure. Personally I'll stick with the Universe repaint we're getting (I'm going to get that two-pack anyways).

Sweet stuff. I could actually want this - especially as I've never got hold of an original RB or Whirl. It's like G1 with articulation - maybe it could even be kitbashed a bit so it's even better?

Oh, and RIRFIB. Some of us remember the toys.

Hmmm, if I can find this item and at the right price, I may skip out on the Classics repaint to serve as my modern Universe Roadbuster.

If this is the right scale it would make a great addition to my Classics/Universe Collection.

Depends on what you mean by "right price".

If you mean "$200", then definitely. CM's Gokins can be prohibitively expensive, and this one will be retailing for 23,800 Yen. The stuff they make (most of it anyway, they have the occasional snafu) is top notch quality, though.

Going from CM's past products, this should be between 7-8 inches tall and probably 70-80% die-cast.
