Thanks for the pic on series 16. I definitely need 3 or 4 of those....or 5...or 8....or...all of them. :sigh:

I will actually pass on a bunch of these (after being nearly completist lately). The hiker is my favorite, but I'll probably get the mom, banana dude, penguin skater, arctic researcher, trick or treater, dog show dude, and the Hispanic guitar guy. I guess that is 8 of them:/

Those all look great and it would appear that two costumed characters in this Series are going to be stand outs, with another food item and what is the first official kid in a costume... Actually two kids in costumes because a trick-or-treater appears to have jumped ship from Series 14 and joined the ranks here.

Yeah well their Canadian Business Model did not work as they expected so rather than try and fix it, if that were even possible, and continue losing money until 2018 or whenever they reported they'd be making a profit they chose to ditch Canada and leave us with a bunch of newly built stores that at the moment nobodies decided to take over.

Quite frustrating as they actually stocked LEGO Exclusives unlike Wal-Mart Canada and were pretty good when it came to discounting to move stock, for the most part. Unfortunately due to poor business choices they failed, and failed hard.

Not a mom, officially I believe she's supposed to be the Babysitter.

Flightpose with the long arms work pretty well. Just make sure they are almost vertical so the arms won't droop down.

Was able to grab the Technic Street motorcycle from TRU on the $5 off $30 promotion. Been waiting for it to go on sale.

It's interesting to look at LEGO Star Wars and see just how many more Minifigures they include in sets these days due to the sheer number of sets being released.

Back in 1999 you got 42 Minifigures, and that count included a fair number of Battle Droids. In 2015 the grand total is 153 and this is just from the sets at retail and through comic cons. It doesn't include the Keychains or Magnet Sets. Or anything else I may be missing like the LEGO Watches, Flashlights and Clocks that have oversized versions of Minifigures and stuff.

And if you somehow had every single release from 1999 to 2015 your Minifigure collection is probably going to include upwards of 150+ Battle Droids. Cheap, easy to include in PT era sets and plentiful.

LEGO Star Wars is great and all, but the male to female ratio of characters is still skewed in favor of males, much like how Hasbro handles their 3 3/4' line of Star Wars figures.

Shaak Ti has only been in one Clone Wars era set, as has Aayla Secura, Sy Snootles, Mara Jade, Jaina Solo you won't see any of them, and the EU based sets have only been few and far between so doubtful you'll see any now. Princess Leia from ANH is also quite difficult to get, same for Padme as a Handmaiden, you can only get them in super expensive sets. Totally frustrating.

But this isn't new, LEGO has long had a skewed male to female Minifigure ratio, just look at any of their themes and you will see a distinct lack of female characters. The X-Men have had two sets total and we still haven't seen Rogue, Jean Grey (outside of SDCC), Emma Frost, Jubilee, Mystique or hell even Beast, Prof X, Gambit or any number of other characters. Instead we get two Magnetos, two Wolverines a Cyclops a Storm and a Deadpool. So many great characters offered in that franchise but LEGO can't make any sets based on X-Men or FF probably thanks to Marvel/Disney and their ongoing feud with Fox. Really frustrating.

We had to get Doctor Doom in a Spider-Man set, and there are enough Spidey villains to fill an entire rogues gallery, so why use the main baddy for the FF without even including a Human Torch.

I see now why some people just go Chinese knock offs in order to get all the Marvel character goodness they want from Flego. (Or Fake LEGO as Flyguy calls it.) Marvel and Disney need to get off their high horse when it comes to the X-Franchise, they sold the rights fair and square, it was a necessary move at the time and they can't go petty Take Backsies just because it turned out to be profitable for FOX.

Wife found a Slave I at Target marked 70% off. Box was beat to hell but opened it up and all the bags seem to be there. Looks like it was an online return.

Went to Barnes & Noble at lunch and they had the new Star Wars sets. Saw the Turbo Tank and luggabeast sets.

Speaking of B&N I stopped at an out of the way store the other day and was surprised to see a Ghost in stock. Going to head back there at some point and hope it's still there.

Oh that's cool, will have to check out some B&N sometimes. By the time I decided I wanted the Ghost it was discontinued, seems like it was not on the shelves for a very long time.

You know.. I found one online.. It was pretty easy to decipher which parts were used. But I failed to use bricklink properly, so I gave up on finding pieces for it. I wish I still had the list.

    This is it..

I recently finished building Kylo's shuttle with a wing mod earlier this week. I also tweaked the cockpit window setup to give it a more menacing look. Pictures when I get home from the beach!

My current LEGO B-Day Haul is as follows:

    Attack on Avengers Tower
    The Hydra Fortress Smash
    Captain America's Motorcycle
LEGO Scooby-Doo Haunted Hollywood Blu-Ray with Scooby-Doo Polybag
    Imperial Troop Transport
    The Ghost Microfighter
Disney Minifigure, I think it's a duplicate Alien, but I haven't opened it yet.

And since I was in a finish off Age of Ultron LEGO mood I picked up the Blu-Ray finally too. All in all a good day for haulage, and later tonight it'll be an even better day for building. ;)

I lucked out an found wave 8 of the Mixels at a local clothing store (!) so I got the whole thing in one go. I was a little unsure if I really wanted the pirate team but that the max build is a ship and the fact that I know from experience that mixels that seem meh usually are fun to build and are much stronger in person than in pictures won them over. And anyway, more lego pieces are always appreciated.

Out of this bunch, the strongest individual mixel is definitely Tuth, the tooth-shaped one. This one really pulls off the whole "demented charm" look that mixels generally aim for and just has a great heft to him. For something so relatively small it sure feels solid. I don't find the other two medical mixels to be as strong but they still have things to them that others don't.

The firefighters are more even, I think, and make for the strongest team when taken as a whole. The fire hydrant is probably the weakest in terms of having something going on but it does look nice.

I did find the pirate team to be a little less interesting as I suspected I would but Lewt, the treasure chest crab, is actually quite nice. His big claw isn't as articulated as I would've liked and the eyestalks are a little plain but the treasure chest body and coin teeth are ace. The two other ones have hidden gold coins as a simple and effective way of giving them a little extra flavour. If you like pirate lego and mixels you will probably be into these.

All in all I would call this a strong wave. I do hope they've got some more, y'know, elemental stuff planned for the future but lego is much better at mimicking machinery than it is more abstract concepts or organic things.
