I really can't stand that new hair on Widow, I believe it's the same hair for Daphne from Scooby-Doo. They look almost the same, quite frankly while it works for Daphne it just doesn't suit the appearance of Widow. Really wish I'd nabbed the old Quinjet set when I had opportunity. Perhaps that lone Wal-Mart that still had three in stock hasn't sold them yet... Fat chance on that, but you never know sometimes.
even looking at more pics of maria hill, nothing really stands out with that fig that tells me "this is maria hill from avengers!" i'd rather have wildstyle hang out with cap and the rest of the peeps
Accurate to what? Her hair is a bit flatter than that, and doesn't include the ends sticking out. I just don't agree with LEGO's sculptors here, Scarlett's hair style on camera just doesn't look good in this scale of plastic.
Oversized bricks? Seeing as they probably didn't put Duplo bricks in it that means they either made new molds or made models that resemble scaled up bricks. The latter option is probably what they went with and it sounds awesome.
I'm getting kinda sick of all the Gatling guns shoehorned into small sets. I mean, they sold just fine without a gimmick.
Picked up GL vs. Sinestro and B&SAK Attack, both fun sets... Kind of wish there was more to build though, one Micromanager and Unikitty do not a good price per piece ratio make. Also picked up the LEGO Movie Videogame, so far it's been fun... Kinda, I wish I hadn't watched the partial walkthrough from the Brickshow before playing the game, kind of lessens the excitement when you already saw what is supposed to happen. Actually the game is one of the first ones that seems to take a metric ton of studs to fill up the special/true hero/what-have-you meter in each level. The voice work is nice though. I guess the events of the game are in an alternate reality from the movie. The cut scenes from the film sometimes don't fit with the game storyline and events dialogue-wise... Perhaps they should have just re-done them for the game to flow better.
Unfortuently The Lego Movie Videogame suffers from all movie tie in games, It's a cheap cash grab, and will always be. I mean, I enjoyed it but it's not Lego Marvel Superheroes.
That's insane!!! Glad I have no interest in the Hellicarrier in general, makes passing on this super easy.
so a thought, hot toys and other high end lines that are linked to specific properites and lines (marvel, dc, etc) have slowly throughout the years been going higher and higher in prices. a hot toy years ago would cost ~100 to start, now we have avengers and guardians going for $150-200+ to start. is this the trend we are seeing now for high end lego? the tumbler, hellicarrier, slave-1, next years whatever? is this because piece count is getting higher and more expensive or is the fact that they are still property themed items that they want peeps to shell out more money?
Gue Helicarrier should he about $320 as it has 2996 peices. Not $400, I won't pay that for it and I doubt it will actually be that price.
I don't know if it's been mentioned, but the new Pirates sets are up on Shop at Home, and the prices have made me very happy! One $13 set, two $20 sets, one $30, and the $100 ship (but that last one is only to be expected). I am so excited to add these to my collection; I've really missed Pirates.
They also come with the Wookie Gunship. Also, with the exchange rate, $400 CAD = $314 USD... Making the Canadian price CHEAPER than the US retail price of $350 USD. Tax is pretty insane in Canada though.
I think it is more a combination of the size of the pieces and licensing. The Simpson House has about 300-400 pieces less than the Hellicarrier but also costs $170 less Canadian. The Sandcrawler actually has more pieces and still costs $50 less.
