I'm interested in Toynami's 1/100 scale, for a couple reasons. They're cheaper (I'm not in the position to buy hundred dollar toys at the moment). They seem a good size to pose next to my Classics Jetfire. And they seem to have upcoming Super and Strike armors for their Valkyries (or Veritechs, whatever Harmony Gold calls 'em).
Has anyone bought the Toynami 1/100? Can you tell me the good and bad points? |

Before I migrated to the 1/60 Yamato toys, I used to have a few Toynamis. To cut the long story short, My Max and Millia 1/100 breaks easily. Seriously you will be better of with Yammies but if budgetis an issue, then go ahead with the Toynami. |

They are ok, not really a substitute for the larger scale ones. They are going to be much smaller then Classic Jetfire. They also don't seem very sturdy to me, so you will want to handle them carefully. Hands have to be popped on and off and are not part of the transformation.
They are a fun little thing to have but not really good if you're looking to collect Macross.

BTW, what would look about the size of Classics Jetfire? A 1/60? 1/55? |

Of course Yamato's can/will break if mishandled, pretty much anything would. They're fairly sturdy, though. These little Toynamis, however... no real mishandling needed to break them. I had 3, sold 2 of them (Max/Millia) and just kept Hikaru. He developed cracks just being on display, not even in any drastic pose just staning at attention. No horrible breaks, but, y'know... just the principle.
They are pretty neat for the price, though. |

And sure, I could break my 1/48 vf-1 and 1/60 yf-19 if I dropped them, or didn't transform them right and tried to force something I wasn't supposed to, but don't handle them wrong and they're ok.
I think classics jetfire is somewhere around 1/72. 1/55 is the original jetfire. |

If you want a Battroid just for fun though, you could look into the Revoltechs. They don't transform, but they're cheap and very poseable. |

Very nice display pieces. I have had no problems with any of them so far. Thanx to Nemesis Predaking for this AWESOME Sig. My Feedback |
