I got this back when it came out. I opened it, tinkered with it, then displayed it in Voltron mode on my desk. It has never fallen off. No one else has touched it. Tonight, I went to display it in their lion modes. The rear leg of the green lion snapped right off at the knee. I thought maybe it was stiff and I forced it and it broke, but then I looked at the red lion's rear legs. One of them was broken at the knee. The plastic had split on its own! Needless to say, I'm rather annoyed. Anyone else had this problem or possible theories as to how it happened?
I just got mine and I have to say the lions legs are made of some really cheap plastic. For that very reason I dont think mine will ever see lion form.
It's something that's happened with other toynami items as well, such as their masterpiece robotech valkyries. Hands crumbling, random cracks forming in the plastic where there wasn't any stress.
Greeeat. I guess I just won't mess with it anymore. I'll just glue what parts I have. Still very disappointing. Don't think I'll buy any more Toynami products. Thanks for the info.
I was disappointed in the quality...and I remember the thing took FOREVER to be released. I have a number of issues with mine...I just let it sit up on the shelf, and hope it doesn't fall off...
Glad I read this. I thought MP Voltron looked great and had considered picking him up sometime, but if there are issues like this then forget it.
It does look great. It's a fantastic toy. At least until this problem reared its ugly head. I would say that if you could get it cheap, go for it, but other than that I'd discourage people from getting it.
My blue lion's hind leg broke off when I first got it. I emailed and phoned alteregocomics and they just referred me to Toynami's email address [email protected] Tel: 818-787-8998 Anyways, after I emailed them, they told me to send it to their address and then they sent a replacement blue lion in 2 weeks. It's worth a shot to email them about the problem.
It's funny that Bandai would make a Soul of Chogokin Leopardon (from that 1978 Japanese Spider-man series) and NOT make one for Golion or Dairugger XV.
Hey man, I like the Leopardon SoC. I think all of our robot toy needs/problems could be solved if everything had a Revoltech or SoC made of it.
I had heard they released MP Voltron is waves of 5000 bots a pop and there was some way with a number to figure out which wave your tron is from and if its from the last 5000 bot wave, the problems and defects were fixed. Toynami's definition of fixed and yours might be different, though.
Ok, so 1/3 of the masterpiece voltrons might not fall apart. Sorry, not blowing 100+ on a figure from a company with that track record.
i've formed voltron and took them apart and posed them with no problems what so ever. it was sitting on my shelf for a long time and i recently took them down and put them back into their box with no problems. i got them when they first came out so its been a while.
Not every one of them have problems, but an overly significant number too, far too many to play the lottery on a figure that expensive to hope it doesn't break just standing by itself.
