Ok I got The package in earlier than expected so I will review the Ryu Brothers from Gaogaigar.

Initially only two Ryus were created. Enryu (Fire Dragon) and Hyoryu (Ice Dragon). Their main function is to rescue and protect civilians. Their AIs were trained from the ground up (no 'programmed' AI like the ones from Might Gaine). They had trouble changing into their robot modes at first, but after clearing that obstacle they had another in that they sympa rates were not at 100%.

Enryu and Hyoryu in their vehicle modes. They are nearly exactly the same. Only the attachment on their rear is different. Enryu's is a ladder/gun and Hyoryu's is a crane/gun. They can both be extended.

"System Change!"
They are one of the most articulate Brave toys released. Though thats not saying much. They have 15 articulation. Their legs are hampered by thow they are joints to his waist and also the lack over swivel. This allows a few cool poses but not as much as you'd think. Their chest and antennas are reversed which is a neat touch.

Anime reference!

Enryu comes with a shield and his melting gun (which stores in the back of his right leg). Hyoryu only comes with his freezing gun.

The SRW games (not sure about the anime) gives them their Crane tonfas and Ladder tonfas. They were not meant to be used in this form so its not a very good fit.

"Freezing Rifle!"
"Melting Rifle!"
Again the Freezing Rifle was NOT meant to be used this way. Just something from the anime.

Their chest dials can be moved to change the colours of their chest lights. These are used in the anime to open their chest doors for their 'Chest Warmer' and 'Chest Freezer' attacks. Sadly this feature didnt make it into the toy (For a very good reason).

Once they Sympa rate finally reaches 100% Symmetrical Docking is activated! Enryu and Hyoryu combine into the super robot Choryujin (Super Dragon God)! In this form he is essentially a brick. He has only elbow and head articulation. Thats fine though because he looks great. Much better than Ultra Raker.

They can flip they crane/ladder for the Double gun attack.

They can also be used as the Double Tonfas.

Latter on the chinese Ryus are introduced. They are Fuuryu (Wind Dragon) and Rairyu (Thunder Dragon). They were made to assist the military so their attacking capabilities are higher than Enryu and Hyoryu's. At first they believe that protecting their country is top priority and protecting civilians is a very low priority but once Enryu and Hyoryu knock some sense into them they are able to perform Symmetrical Docking as well.

The Chinese Ryus use the sam,e basic vehicle mode but different attachments. Fuuryu is a cement mixer truck and and Rairyu is a dump truck.

All Ryus in vehicle mode.

Anime reference 2. It is interesting to note that Rairyu and Fuuryu's face has extra sculpting as oppsed to Enryu and Hyoryu's 'clean' faces.

Rairyu can use the skip as a hover craft. Why? No idea.

Like Their sempais they can also change their chest colour. These are slightly different in the show because they each have four attacks activated by setting the level but the toy can not do this.

Fuuryu's Feng Dao Dan (Wind Torpedoe) and Rairyu's oddly shaped gun (Yeh its a gun. SRW says so).

All Ryus together in robot mode.

Once Fuuryu and Rairyu combines they form Gekiryujin (Impact Dragon God). A brick like Choryujin. But the Skip hampers that arm's movement.

Choryujin and Gekiryujin.

When Choryujin recieves 'ZA POWAA!', Enryu and Hyoryu are forced to split up to help the defenseless Rairyu and Fuuryu. They succeed in reaching 200% Sympa rate and fuse into new warriors Genryujin (Illusion Dragon God) and Goryujin (Strong Dragon God)! Their finishing attacks are Thunder Blizzard and Burning Hurricane

Goryujin and mini me (KO).

The Ryus are really cool. Very articulated for braves and the interaction between new and old is very good. Highly recommended.

Ok it took more time for me to get around to it (unpacking other stuff I bought from Hong Kong). still not had time to sticker them up though .

The Gakuen Gattai Moebine set right now consists only of the the Ninjutsubu (Ninja Club) and will hopefully add more later on. The name 'Gakuen Gattai' is a pun. Gakuen usually means school but in this case the kanjis mean studying and flame (Flaming studying Combination???). The Ninjutsubu consists of 5 members and their Bine Mates (Official term!).

Before the introductions we'll talk about the figure bodies (not like that you sickos!). All the characters in the Ninjutsubu have the same bodies. The only difference is their heads and the bodie's colours. Each figure's head is very well sculpted and beautifully painted. I only wish they had painted the bodies too instead of giving us stickers.
Each figure is quite articulated. They have six the on arms, eight on the legs and are also articulated at the waist and head. Thats 30 articulation! Only thing I would change is make the elbow double jointed.

Each figure comes with two sets of hands. I natural open set and a holding weapon set. Strange that the patterns on the two sets of hands are different(???).

The hips and feet of some of the figures a a bit loose so holding their weight when combined with their Bine Mates are a bit difficult.

Each Bine Girl also includes a kunai (Throwing knife) of varying colours.

First up is the second year student Endou Takane and her Bine Mate Homura Hawk (homura means flame). I'll talk about the Bine Girls later.

Homura Hawk is pretty cool looking bird figure. It is very sharp and detailed. Everything is right where they should be. Also leave it to No.1 to be the main chest for the Super Robot . It has quite a bit of articulation because of the bine parts. Its talons can each move three parts, The wings can move the purple 'feathers' and can move at the body, and the the tail parts can move as well. The head can swivel if you like.

Next up is third year student Kamitsuki Kyouko and her Bine Mate Fuuma Viper. I'm not sure what Fuuma means. Maybe fumes as in poisonous fumes?

The snake is rather disappointing. It can move as well as a snake should (because its the Super Robot's legs?). It has two at the head and around 7 on the body. But one section of the body is rather static making the poses look very stiff.

First year student Kamaguchi Tamami and her Bine Mate Raidentoad (Raiden is basically thunder and Lightning).

I'm not sure of the significance of Toads and ninjas but I like it. Rather bulky and thats what it needs to be for a toad. It can slightyl move its mouth.Has two articulation each on the front legs and five on the back legs. His head can also swivel. Enough articulation for a toad I'd say . It also comes with a handbag thing of some sort (called something like Battle Boshet/Poshet?)...

Third year student Ookami Uruha (same Ookami as the Ps2 game of the same name) and her Bine Mate Kouga Wolf (I think Kouga means Wolf Fang).

I'm suprised Kouga Wolf uses the other leg. Didnt expect it at all. The does hide it well enough I guess. I'm disappointed the legs arent more articulated but thats to be expected I guess. It has tail and head articulation, and all four legs and feet move too. But the front legs look strange when you move them because of where they are jointed. Also comes with a sickle .

Lastly first year student SarutobiSarii and her Bine Mate, the rather strangely jointed Shinobi Ape.

The ape is just plain strange. Its a result of severe parts left over that needed to be thrown somewhere. Its way to scrawny to be an actually ape.It has three artlation on each of its arms and three on its legs. The headcan also swivel. Ugh. Its the ugliest of the five. Also comes with a small sword .

All Bine Mates together.

Heres the parts breakdown. They certainly dont lose out against the normal Mugenbine candy toys.

"Bine Cross!" is the term used for Combining Bine Girl and Bine Mate.

This is Takane's Bine Cross form. Quite cool with the wings and the talons onm her arm. Its too bad the whole of Homura Hawk's body is discarded for this form. Her main weapon is the Kasakiri Boomerang.

Next up is Kyouko's Bine Cross. Not much. Just the hip armour and giant sword.

Her main weapon is the Fuuma Revol Cannon.

Next is Tamami's. The waist armour aint too bad but the legs look tacked on. She has a hand gun which is nice .

Her main weapon is the Otama Launcher (otama means tadpole).

Uruha's Bine Cross. Not bad with the wings and the Arm blades. Her main weapon is the Kouga Cannon.

Ladtly, Sarii's Bine Cross. Her main weapon is the Shinobi Sniper Cannon. Nice .

All Bine Crossed Bine Girls.

"Super Bine Cross!" All five Bine Mates united into one being!

Kidou kyoushi (Mobile Teacher) Mitsurugi Kaiser!

This is the 'naked' form.

All Bine parts attached. Its very nice. But as with all Mugen bines when theres too much parts, the parts come off very easily. (notably the packback which seems a bit heavy). The articulation is amazing! Six on each arm, seven on each leg, one for the waist (forward and back) and the head (swivel. Thats 28 points of articulation! And thats not including parts whichcan move for clearance (the skirt) or to add dramatic effect (The wings).

It is visually stunning. Very Knight like appearance. The colours IMO also work very wello together. Mitsurgi Kaiser's inner head can also be turned around to become a evil face (so dont get her mad!).

Homura Hawk carries an extra helmet and face for the Super Robot to form Homura Kaiser.

Mitsurugi Kaiser comes with a variety of weapons. First is her Gourai Cannon and Shipuu gun.

Second is her Kongouzan Blade.

Then the Kouga Chain Blade.

Lastly it can still utilize Takane's Karikiri Boomerang.

Overall this set feels just like a mugenbine candy toy set. just that they include very articulated girl figures to increase the price. Its a very nice piece and I look forward to any future releases for this line .

Yes. And no. Yes the left overs CAN be used to make naked Mitsurugi Kaiser. BUT they are also used to make some of their weapons as well.

Here they are all stickered up (or nearly all, Some I felt was unnecessary).

Forgot the pony tail here...

Also forgot to mention that Kyouko's hair is shaped so that if the ribbon/wings are attached she cant move her head at all.

Here come the Gatcha Police!

I was going to do this last week but I had a lot of stuff to do and it kept getting pushed back. Anyway heres my review/overview of the GoGo Sentai Boukenger's initial mecha set the GoGo Vehicles.

First up is No.1 GoGo Dump. Its pretty cool looking truck and is very detailed. I especially like the chromed grill .

The Dump part can flip back or...

They can transform into two claw arms. Very cool. IIRC the american version does not feature claw mode.

Next up is No.2 GoGo Formula. Pretty neat looking race car. Reminds me of the cars in Cyber Formula. More chrome .

You can flip the front end to the back for 'missile mode' (used in the show but the missiles arent molded in despite the box calling it a 'feature').

No.3 GoGo Gyro. Quite cool aerial vehicle.

The back part comes off as the 'Met Lander' (or Daibouken's helmet).

No.4 GoGo Dozer. Not a bad looking vehicle.

The gun on the top and the shovel can move.

No.5 GoGo Marinediver. A sub. What more do you want to know?

The claws can rotate.

All the main GoGo Vehicles together.

They can combine together for GoGo Trailer mode. Very cool and imaginative mode .

They can also combine into the super robot Daibouken (The name can mean either big Adventure or Great Treasure Sword). For a Sentai robot its pretty well articulate because of Dump's transformation).

The 'bucket head' portion is not in the american version. Rather the head is molded to the helmet now.

Daibouken comes with two weapons. First is the Go Picker.

Next is the Go Scooper.

They can combine together to form the GoGoKen.

The Auxillary Mechs are quickly introduced into the series as additional fire power for Daibouken. First is No.6 GoGo Drill. If you roll it on a smooth surface the drill spins (not just the huge drill but the smaller 'screw' parts also spin at the same time. Nice).

The Treads can flip down (I'm not sure why).

It can combine with Daibouken.

GoGo Dozer attaches to his left leg for this mode.

Next is No.7 GoGo Shovel.

The arm can move at a few points and and tread part can move independently of the top. There seem to be shock absorbers of sorts that can be popped out.

Attached to Daibouken.

GoGo Marinediver attaches to his right leg for this mode.

No.8 is GoGo Mixer. The mixer can be spinned by either moving the dial at the top or rotating the 'button' at the back.

The mixer can be rotated back or...

The mixer can be opened by pressing the button for a cannon form.

GoGo Mixer as arm. GoGo Dozer goes into the left left leg again.

No.9 is GoGo Crane.

The 'helmet can be removed and a small hook is revealed.

The crane can move at the base and the arm. The hook part can be lowered via a sting and can bereversed by rotating the dial.

GoGo Crane as arm. GoGo Marinediver goes into the right leg again.

My favourite Auxillary Mech combo. I like the big shoulders look .

The Daibouken can combine with all 4 auxillary mechs at once to form Super Daibouken. Yeh thats basically Daibouken's back...

As far as I know the instructions leave the front panels as is whjen forming Super Daibouken I suppose for stabilty?

But it doesnt need this so as an extra step You can flip them back into the legs before attaching GoGo Mixer and GoGo Crane.

This allows for the same articulation that Daibouken had previously .

The last GoGo Vehicle is the No.10 GoGo Jet. The nose part can be fired out (Though mine doesnt work very well). It also comes with a extra part that allows it to carry other GoGo Vehicles (Namely the arms).

GoGo Vehicle numbered 6 to 10.

All GoGo Vehicles.

GoGo Jet can combine with Daibouken for his 'Buster Mode'. Pretty silly me thinks.

GoGo Jet can also combine with GoGo Vehicles numbered 6 to 9 to form DaiTanken. a very fat looking mecha. The head reminds me of Time Robo Shadow Alpha's mask from Timranger.

Daibouken with Daitanken.

And finally all GoGo Vehicles can combine together to form Ultimate Daibouken. A humongous mecha that held the title of the 'highest mechs combined' in sentai for approximately one and a half years before Go-onger's G12 took it. It can use the 'extra part from GoGo Jet as a 'shield'.

Same articulation as Super Daibouken.

Very nice figure. It was getting a bit rare so I didnt think I would be getting it any time soon but since Hong Kong TV Networks are now showing Boukenger, its become abundant again. I need to get another GoGo Dump because it was damaged in transport...

Thats it. I'm done.

Next up is from the now obsolete Souchaku Henshin line by Bandai. This line is very similar to the old Saint Seiya figures except with Henshin Heroes instead (most Kamen Riders though). They are made of mostly plastic but do contain some diecast metal as well (some in the chest armour and their legs). The two I have here is Kamen Rider Kabuto from the how of the same name and Gatack who is also from that show. To go with these figures are the kabuto and Gatack Extenders (their bikes).

I also have the figuarts versions here as well.

First up is Kamen Rider Kabuto. He is the first rider to appear in the series and he is extremely cocky (has to be one of the most cocky heroes ever). He is also the man that walks the way of heaven. Whatever that means .

All Kabuto Riders come in two flavours. Masked Form and Rider Form. Kabuto's Masked form makes its first appearance in episode one and Rider form in episode 2. Because of the two form nature of this set, there are two 'bodies' included. One is the normal poseable body the other is the more restricted body so that you can display both forms together.

Masked form is the armoured form. It mimicks the worm's first forms. This form is used to take on the initial wave of worms before one or more molt and emerge in more speedy forms.

The Kabuto Kunai Gun is similar to the Black Zyuranger in that his weapon has more than one function. The first is the Axe Mode.

Second is Gun Mode.

If the worms successfully molt then Kabuto will need to activate CAST OFF.

Kabuto's Rider mode his much more speedy form.

This form allows him to use his 'Clock Up' ability. It basically makes time around the rider slower (or make the rider quicker, take your pick). Thw worms also have this ability so its all fair.

The third function for the Kunai Gun is Kunai Mode.

Masked Form and Rider Form together.

What would a Kamen Rider be without his trusty bike? I admit the fit is only so-so. The figure it was intended for is a bit taller (Cost Off Rider series).

The Kabuto Extender also features a Cast Off mode like Kabuto himself.

Next up is Gatack. Originally the user of the Kabuto Zector was supposed to be used by Kagami but through certain circumanstances he didnt get the chance to do so. Eventually he got a zector of his own (after dieing). The Gatack Zector is very aggressive and initially did not accept anyone including Kagami.

Gatack's Masked Form. It shares quite a bit of the design with Kabuto.

His long ranger weapons are the two guns on his shoulders.

CAST OFF!

Gatack's Rider form also looks very similar to Kabuto's but its obvious he was meant to be the next step up. He even has Kabuto's shoulder pads except another shoulder pad was layed over the top.

His shoulder guns now become the Double Caliburs (Minus and Plus Caliburs).

They can combine together to perform the 'Rider Cutting' finisher.

CLOCK UP!

Gatack Extender.

The gatack Extender's 'Cast Off' mode opens up instead of casting off the armour.

See the similarities?

Something I did for fun

kagami: I've had enough of your attitude!

1..2..3..

RIDER KICK!

Kagami: What happened? (I think only fans would get this joke. Maybe not)

Next is the Figuarts comparisons. Not much to say about them apart from UBER ARTICULATION! and the eyes look great. Their proportions are also better than the Souchaku henshin counterparts.

Souchaku Henshin Gatack seems to be looking into space. He seems a bit bored after such a long photo shoot.

Thats it. I like both Souchaku Henshin and Figuarts versions but seeing as the Souchaku Henshin ones have so many small parts the Figuarts ones are probably better for play. Just a shame they dont have the Masked Modes.

Very nice swag. I'm particularly interested in the Moebine, but last I checked, they're somewhat out of my price range.

Just got the Mugen Genseijyu set in. The theme this time is forest beasts. The name Genseijyu literally translates to Phantom Saint Beasts so I guess they can disappear into the mists of the forest...

First up is Mugen Elf. I must say the first thing I thought when putting him together was that he's a mech incarnation of Link from The Legend of Zelda. Just without the sword. he comes with a horn of sorts. Probably used to command the other forest beasts? He is the same size as Mugen Captain and Mugen Hanuman and also has no knee or elbow articulation. He has two articulation on each shoulder, two at the hips and his head can turn.

Next is Mugen Dorkus. Its a stag beetle. The back legs are stuck together and no of his legs has articulation in themselves only at the point they attach to the body. His 'horns' can open of close. He comes with Roider Freedom.

He does hide inside. He just... uhhh...

Anyway the next is Mugen War Scythe (Thats the only thing I could work out from the katakana). Its a praying mantis. Again no articulation in the legs themselves but where they attach to the body. The 'scythes' each have 3 artculation. He has a few points on his body as well.

Mugen Spider has the least pieces on his body. His four legs on each side are all just one piece. Two articulation on each piece. He has a string of web too as accessories...

Mugen Goblin is a nice little figure. He has two articulate each leg, three each arm and the head. He comes with an axe.

Latly is Mugen Hornet. Once again all the legs are stuck together. The wings dont flap (despite it being molded to look like they can).

Mugen Guardian is pretty cool looking. Has a very mystical look to him. He is not a pin head like Mugen Ashura was. But like all his fellow Mugenbine candy toy partners he has a big back pack (where all the unused insect legs go).

He has a second helmet mode if you flip it backwards. Looks strange.

His main weapon is the bow and arrow. Nothing else.

With fellow Bow expert Kinohjin.

With all Candy toy molds released to date excluding Enoh since I havent had time to put Enryuki on Ashura (forgot Mitsurugi Kaiser. Woops)

So I made up for it with this pic.

Its a nice set but he needs a sword so G Gentoshi be released already!

Got the Mugen Fuuryukibines in this morning.

First up is Littlebine. He is the smaller alternative to Mugen Elf. He uses a boomerang rather than a horn.

Next is Stagbine. Hes pretty cool. The patterns on it really looks ancient like.

Next is Mantisbine. Has two articulation on each of his 'scythes' which is nice.

Next is Capturebine. Loks like a zoid (the head does anyway).

Dwarfbine. Uses an axe like Mugen Goblin.

Beebine.

All together.

Combined they form Ryustormbine. A lot of kibble masquerading as wings. The arms are like really small.

Combined with Mugen Guardian they are Mugen Shinoh (God King). FINALLY. He has a short range weapon. He'll have two next month though . As can be expected, this form is a little unstable. The spear keeps detaching from the handle when posing... Maybe its just my one though.

Overall not a bad set. Now got to wait till next month to get his Mugen Blade .
