As for Yamato Takeru, very cool. I dig Tamanoo, flaming red FTW
There were never any real digimon talk here . I'm not really feeling it for any of the newer digimon though.
Tamanoo is the cheap one. Only 1000yen . Susanoo is the one I wanted the most and payed the most for... I've got one more box coming in. I don't know if it'll arrive the next week or week after (I thought the first box would arrive in 4-6 days... That didn't quite work out.). We'll see. I'll probably post my next haul here.

My package arrived this morning. Faster than my last parcel from them. I've taken quite a few photos. Very cool figures. The figures are based on a little known anime based on bomberman but the core bomb concept was changed. Its called Bomberman B-Daman Bakugaiden IV (They only started animation at IV but the first two eps include III as well). As is made known by Battle B-daman that was released over here, they shoot out marbles. That's exactly what the Bomberman B-daman do. Its a fun little show with some nice robot combinations. Takara surprisingly also kind of revived the Headmasters concept with the fifth installment of Bomberman B-Daman Bakugaiden.

This is the Clear 'crystal' version of the Complete boxset for B-Da Calibur, the strongest B-Da Armour in the V series. Its combined from 4 B-Da Armours into one giant brick (much like braves).

The Front of the box.

The Back of the box.

The contents (yes, you have to build them).

First up is Crys Whiter (Crys is short for Crystal).

This is Shirobom. He is the leader of the main B-Da Cops. (His body colour in the show is actually white, blue and pink. Just like the original bomberman but for this release his whole body is cast in translucent yellow/green plastic)

Shirobom's B-Da Armour in Ride Mode. It doesn't reallyt look like anything. Just the arms are fliped back and missing its head.

Shirobom does a back flip and transforms magically into Crys Whiter's head.

Close up of his body.

Crys Whiter was the least interesting of the four. His Ride Mode was born our of the necessity to have one. His shoot gimmick is that he has a green cartridge on his back. Once the marble is fired, the cartridge flies out of the back for you to reload another. The gimmick is utter ass. It doesn't even work properly half the time. The translucent plastic has a yellow tint to it which I'm not overly fond of.

The next up is Aobom and Crys Bludo. He is the brainiac of the group but gets scared easily by ghosts and dark places.

The ride mode of Aobom's B-Da Armour.

Aobom transforms into Crys Bludo's head unit.

Close up of his body.

Showing Crys Bludo's gimmick.

Crys Bludo is interesting. The Ride Mode is okay. It at least resembles a vehicle. His gimmick is that the jet nose on his chest can place a marble which is released after enough pressure is placed on it (it does this by itself). And the jet nose also can be launched from the main body so you can place a marble into the nose, then launch the nose and the marble will automatically fly out afterwards. I like Crys Bludo's looks and it looks even better crystalised.

Next is CrysGreever and Midoribom. He is hilarious in the show, he is a royal knight of the Boda Kingdom but knows nothing of the outside world so constantly causes trouble for our main characters.

Midoribom's Ride Mode.

Midoribom's head transformation gimmick is slight different. Instead of his legs attaching to the side of the head, they hang out at the back.

Close up of Crys Greever's body.

I like Crys Greever's Ride mode. Not enough tank transformers these days though its a part former you need to remove the arms and legs and then change their formation then re-attach. The shoot gimmick on this is disappointing. You can store about 6 marbles into his two cannons then through pressure from the back levers, send them all flying out.

Lastly, we have Crys Blacker and Kurobom. Kurobom is the best of the best in the B-Da Cop organisation and constantly berates the team for being useless (when he's around). Only near the end is he able to understand that to become stronger you need to work together. (Strangely enough, his colour in this figure is midnight blue, like Aobom's colour, yet he's supposed to be completely black. Strange.)

Crys Blacker's Ride Mode.

Kurobom's transformation to head mode is the same as Shirobom's and Aobom's but because of a added step in transformation, he loses head articulation.

Close up.

He is nice and HUGE. He took double the time to build as the others and a lot of joints are really tight and made my hand hurt from just transforming it. His shoot gimmick is like Crys Whiter's except its pumped up so he can hold 3 cartridges in at any one time. Also once a cartridge is used it is dropped out from the side. Nice looking gimmick and works better than Crys Whiter's but this gimmick means he has the whole launcher sticking out of his back.

Group shot.

Different angle.

In the final battle against Dark Emperor Veda all of the Crystal machine users are able to combine their powers into the B-Da Calibur. Theis figure misses the giant sword used in the show.

The final compination is very clever and sturdy. Nothing seems loose on it. This combination leaves Aobom, Midoribom and Kurobom without rides but what else are they going to do? Also the instructions detail a Perfect mode consisting of nearly every single blaster from this series' B-Da armours. Unfortunately I don't have any so I can't make that form. Its a nice model kit and good that they revived the headmasters gimmick for this.

Thanks for reading .

Edit: Oh yeah, I haven't added any decals on them apart from the eyes/mouthplate. I don't know if I really want to actually.

Man, that thing is awesome! The little figures kinda remind me of Bomberman. One thing I do know - they're a lot cooler than the couple of B-daman figures I got a while back.

As I said in the post, this IS bomberman . They just have marbles on their belts now and they don't use bombs. Also their form shown here are their armour forms. In the anime the majority of the time they don't have their armour and Shirobom looks nearly exactly the same as the normal bomberman .

Edit: Here a link I dug out from the far reaches of the internet. At the bottom theres a sie comparison between Masterpiece optimus prime and B-Da Calibur.

Studio Half Eye has made figures of Gravion and his various allies that can all combine together. However at that pricepoint, it leaves a lot to be desired (especially in size).

Thanx for the info RS. Yeah i agree, anything by S.H.E is super fricking expensive. definitely not worth it imo. i could buy a lot of robots & stuff with dat kind of money.

That said if anybody can afford them by all means, go ahead & buy them.

More miscellaneous figures from japan! Yay!

My box of Chou Mashin Eiyuuden figures came in today. One of them I already have and have already photographed so he will be ignored. Mashin is a pun. The kanji means dark god or demon but its pronounced machine.

First set of figures.

Mashin Ryujinmaru
Mashin Jakomaru
Mashin Senjinmaru (doesn't have the blister. Only the card backing.)
Byakko Ryujinmaru
Geko Ryujinmaru
Ho-oh Ryujinmaru

Second set of figures.

Mashin Choujinmaru
Mashin Dorvolt (Name?)(Selling this to a friend)
Ho-oh Ryujinmaru (the extra which I'm selling to a friend)
Shishi Ryujinmaru (Selling this to a friend)
Ken-oh Ryujinmaru (Selling this to a friend)

#1 Mashin Ryujinmaru

#3 Mashin Dorvolt

#4 Mashin Choujinmaru

#5 Mashin Jakomaru

#6 Shishi Ryujinmaru

#7 Ho-oh Ryujinmaru

#8 Ken-oh Ryujinmaru

#9 Geko Ryujinmaru

#10 Byakko Ryujinmaru

Mashin Ryujinmaru (dragon god)

Front view

Toryuken 'mode' (shoulder opens for final attack)

Nice and basic figure as the first in line. Lacking in articulation compared to the later figures. The upper legs rotate on ball joints, shouler moves up and down, upper arm move outward (no elbow swivel?) , head turns (only slightly though), 'dragon claws' move up down too and the back wings rotate for Toryuken mode. Its your generic hero mecha.

Mashin Senjinmaru with all weapons sheathed (War god)

With both katanas

He did not take to the photos well. And the figure is sub-standard. Basic movement in feet, shoulder and upper arm moves outward. Two panels on the back can be pressed to make the shields on his shoulder to spin (this is how he flies in the anime). Its ok. Nothing to go WOW.

Mashin Dorvolt with weapon

Wngs open

Worst figure of the set IMHO. Upper leg ball-jount movement, shoulder, and head. The arms move in for wing popping action. Has hardly anything to warrant buying it at all. My friend was willing to give it a home though.

Mashin Choujinmaru (Bird God)

Alt mode

'Combined' with Ryujinmaru

Hardly a alt mode but I like it for some reason. Missiles can be attached to its bottom in alt mode. Same articulation as Ryujinmaru and Dorvolt except it has feet articulation to put it into an aerial pose. It can 'combine' with Ryujinmaru in alt mode but it doesn't look all that great. Useless gimmick to sell this figure.

Jakomaru (Evil Tiger)

With sword in shield

With sword and shield

Alt mode

Alternate angle

Nice rival mech. Was first introduced in Mashin Eiyuuden Wataru as a late rival. He is an ally in Mashin Eiyuuden Wataru 2 and an enemy turned ally in Chou Mashin Eiyuuden Wataru. His mech was changed in 2 but it is essentially the same in this version. See the original here:

Model Version
http://www.geocities.jp/lifezoids/wataru_25.htm
DX Version
http://www.geocities.jp/lifezoids/wataru_72.htm

It has more articulation than any of the other figures. Its shoulder moves up and down, upper arm moves in all sides but only a little, upper leg moves in all sides, Knee swivels left and right, Feetmoves in all sides (for transformation but can be utilized in Mashin mode too), wing articulation, waist moves updown (so it can look up or down thought it is also mainly for alt mode) and tail articulation. He has A LOT of balljoints compared to the others. But the tail doesn't like to stay in and one of the silver wing pieces are loose. He's a neat figure and one of the ones I was looking forward to the most. The alt mode is alright. I don't know if its supposed to be a Tiger (as the name suggests) or a bear. Not much you can do with a SD mech.

Shishi Ryujinmaru (Shishi is lion in japanese)

Its a gold and black repaint of the main character. What more is there to say? Very lame first power up but its a gold power up so who cares.

Ken-oh Ryujinmaru (Ken-oh means sword king but the official translation is Sword Master)

With Ken-oh Toryuken

With Ken-oh no ken (Sword of the Sword Master)

Alternate angle for abetter look at the sword

Has a pirate-ish design. Not bad but not my favourite of Ryujinmaru's upgrades. His Turyuken (the claw/sword thing) has a gimmick where it clicks into place and pulling its 'finger' the sword swings down again. The mask comes off to reveal Ryujinmaru's face. From Jakomaru upwards (excluding Shishi since its a repaint) all the figures now have knee swivel and upper arm swivel and outward motion too so this figure is no exception. It has nearly the same articulation as Jakomaru but it loses out on feet articulation.

Geko Ryujinmaru with shield and sword on back (Geko means moon light)

With sword and shield

Has a elegant look but kind of bland because of the lack of details. The mint green is kind of wierd too. The shield has a metallic sticker on it that shows a picture of a dragon at a certain angle. Has same articulation as Ken-oh Ryujinmaru. Theres not really a whole lot to say.

Byakko Ryujinmaruwith sword on back (Byakko means white tiger)

Back view to show its articulated tail

With sword in hand

With the thunder helm and tail as whip weapon

Shoulders attached to arms as a 'claw attack mode'

Out right the guy with the most play value. It has the same articulation as Ken-oh Ryujinmaru and Geko Ryujinmaru but the ammount of extras included is very nice (as opposed to Dorvolt who has nothing worth talking about). Its got a articulated tail that doubles as a whip, a standard affair sword, exchangeable helmet to give it the more traditioal ryujinmaru head, and the shoulder guards which can detach and become giant claws of doom. Only qualm is that the sword is so rubbery and thin it won't stay in his hand at all. He also looks very impressive. Its the be-all-end-all of the Ryujinmarus (if Chou Mashin Ryujinmaru wasn't in the show that is, and of course no poseable figure was EVER made for him. Only a garage kit, fixed pose figure). The lightning helmet can be attached to Mashin Ryujinmaru for some reason (its shown on the back of the card) but it never happens in the show. Wierd.

One thing I'm a bit suprised about is the plastic. When I got Ho-oh Ryujinmaru, A lot of the parts felt more rubbery than plastic and he felt pretty heavy. But the others seems to be made by a completely different company. Very light and hollow feeling to many of them. But all of them share the same sloppily applied paint.

Overall they are very nice and are some of the best Mashin Eiyuuden Wataru merchandise but I still hope one day I'll win that elusive DX Ryuseimaru floating about on yahoo auctions.

Yay! More to add to my thread that hardly anybody views .

I just recieved my 'Warp-digivolving' Gallantmon Crimson Mode toy. It is essentially a repaint of the Chaosgallantmon figure I posted pics of earlier (Or rather that was a reapint of this).

I'll do this as a new toy since I really didn't talk about it much. As far as I can see, this is a upsizing and remolding of the Digi-warrior/D-real Gallantmon figure with hands that can hold weapons (the smaller figure couldn't hold weapons in his hands) and his Lance now splits in half and connect to a plastic ring which is necessary for his Crimson mode. Unfortunately they neglected to give him his shield.
Also originally he was done in in a silvery colour but for this upsized version he was given a White base colour. He has decent articulation. He has 18 points of articulation. These include his neck, shoulders, two at his elbows, upper legs, two at his knees and his feet. This means he can pull off some decent poses .

Gallantmon in all his whitey goodness (Actually its more of a off-white)

Gallantmon Comparison (The other gallantmon is the Warp-digivolving Gallantmon that de-digivolves to Guilmon. Its a crap toy)

Gallantmon and Beelzemon who is some what of a rival

For Chaosgallantmon, The white was changed to silver and Red was changed to blue. The translucent pink on Gallantmon's 'cape' and lance is changed to translucent dark blue. The yellow stays as the base colour since it is non-existant for the Chaosgallantmon character. He is a complete repaint so he has the same articulation as Gallantmon.

Gallantmon and Chaosgallantmon

After attaching all 16 armour pieces, Gallantmon Crimson Mode is born. His main colour is now a very good looking metallic red with gold-ish yellow trim to the armours. He has chrome shoulder pads and chest piece as well. He truly looks magnificent. His lance now splits in two and attaches at the opposite sides of the plastic ring handle to form his double-sided lance weapon. Because of the nature of the weapon, it only looks good from one side. Unfortunately, too much white is showing through (Crimson Gallantmon shouldn't have any white) but that is limitations of toys.

For Chaos gallantmon The metallic/chrome red is now
metallic/chrome blue and The gold trim is now silver. But for some reason he is missing the majority of the black paint (the only black paint he has is the digital hazard symbol on his chest piece). Indeed, he looks very evil compared to Gallantmon.

Gallantmon Crimson Mode and Chaosgallantmon 'Crimson Mode'

Another view

A duel to the death

Overall they re both awesome pieces but a bit expensive now. For some reason Chaosgallantmon has tighter joints than Gallantmon. Whoever actually reads this, thanks!
