I'm reviewing Super HCM Pro Unicorn Gundam now.
Gundam Unicorn comes with quite a few parts. Some of which are still on the trees. He comes packaged in Destroy Mode but lets start with Unicorn mode since thats the form it starts out as.
Here he is in Unicorn Mode. Pretty cool. All the lines on his body makes him look really detailed and awesome. All the red writing thats unintellible? Not so much. Both the Beam Magnum and the Hyper Bazooka can be stored on his back as well as the shield when not in use.
Close up of his head. Very cool looking. You can see his eyes undernearth unlike the MG kit.
He has very good articulation but that seems to be the norm with these figures these days (was surprised how much more articulation they packed into the 1/144 00 kits!). Around 32 points of articulation I'd say. You should be able to put him into a lot of poses.
Reloading his Beam Magnum.
When not in use his magazines can be stored on his back waist plates. But unfortunately, unlike the MG kit, he does not come with extra to store...
With the Hyper Bazooka.
To transform him into Destroy Mode several pieces need to be removed and replaced. The top of the shoulder armor, the side chest plates, the helmet/unicorn horn, the kneeguards, and the feet. The majority of the chest, back pack, lower arm, thighs, lower legs and most of the hip armours transform like the MG. In fact some parts seem lifted straight from the MG kit (like how the backpack attaches by placing it on the peg on his back then pushed down and the small clips on his lower leg lift up for it to extend).
Unlike the MG kit he does not have the ingenious idea of having the Unicorn 'mask' over his Gundam face. instead the Gundam face is on the back of the Unicorn face so when you remove the helmet you turn it around and put the Destroy mode helmet on.
Despite all the parts swapping it is still quite impressive for a figure this size but like the MG kit there are parts that dont lock in place in this form (the whole lower arm structure doesnt lock in this mode) but overall because of the parts swapping this figures turns out to be BETTER structurally than the MG. I can pose it without feeling it'll crumble in my hands. But a minor problem is the V-fin likes to come off when I am posing it. Which reminds me, he comes with an extra V-fin but i'm not really sure what its for...
Close up of his head. Very cool.
The vulcan guns (that's what I'm assuming they are) can be deployed though they are more add-on parts rather than flipping out from underneath.
Yeh the shield is not transformed...
The beam sabers can now be deployed.
Double the slashing power.
Tryig to be Wolverine.
Overall quite a impressive toy. Do I feel like I got my money's worth? Nah. I got SoC Spec Tekkaman Blade for the same price and that guy came with a HUGE ASS robot to boot. But for those with money to spend its not bad. I would've liked them to have included his Gattling guns of doom to be honest as opposed to just include the stuff the MG comes with. Get the MG if you MUST have perfect (or near perfect) transformation. But if you want smaller and more stable one, then get this version. I totally adore the design so I'm gonna be getting HGUC versions of the two modes too so cant wait
