This is close.
Anyways, the underwater set get the red one. Green is okay. He's short. Blue got a nice feel to it. All the rest I didn't buy; ugly or uninteresting.
Underwater baddies...I got green, blue, and yellow. White, red, and black were sort of interesting but I didn't really want them.
I didn't buy any of the Titans, but I missed out on the four-armed one. Although, there was an Toa exclusive for wal-mart. Another water toa with a water bike thing. It looks great, but $20. Also, I read somewhere that some shipments didn't come with a certain piece. They stop then released some a while back, but there was still some reports of the missing piece.

*is sad* Lego set barely stay on shelf for a year. I missed out on some great stuff. MB's Most Wanted List! Check my feedback

News Credits: 4 | Dark Mirror is one of the online serial stories for 2008, it involves Takanuva going into a sort of "pocket universe" where Toa have gone evil and now rule the universe as the "Toa Empire". The only "good guys" left to stand in their way are the (omfg yes...) heroic forces of the Dark Hunters and Brotherhood of Makuta. Effed up much?
Those little demon starfish things that come with the new Makuta are shadow leeches, mutated Kraata designed to suck whatever element a being has in them and replace that power with shadow. We've already seen how it can suck the energies out of Matoran (ala the new Shadow Matoran), and in Dark Mirror Takanuva ran into one and almost died. B/c of all the light it sapped from him he now controls light with one hand and shadow with the other.
Yes, Matoro did die, and it was one of the best written moments in the entire history of the lore. A fitting end for a true hero.
Lego's trying something different this year canister wise, releasing three villains with three heroes instead of just grouping them together separately. The Makuta are the same price as the Toa (with the exception of Mutran and Vican @ Walmart and Icarax @ TRU). Phantoka is just a collective term for the six of them that means "air spirit" or w/e.
As for new Takanuva-
Might just be me, but does anybody else see a striking resemblance to the Makuta of Metru Nui from 2003?

My fav has to be Nidhiki (sp?)
The 4 legged dude that looks like a breed from the queen Alien
If you don't have any of the dvd's yet, they're not bad, and there's a few Bionicle video games out in the used bin you can get for cheap. I dived in pretty hard there for about a month or so. Don't look at my stuff!! Which is Here! XBox live gamertag- chaos muffin

Usually I would get 3 out of every six, but I stopped come the barrakki, I only got mantax and caracpar, and stopped altogether by the time the mahri came out.
also, Split Lip, some of the titans are pure win. Especially Axxon. |

Seeing as how Makuta have been confirmed as a species, its no longer viable to just call any one of them Makuta, it gets to confusing. So now they're either identified by their home town (i.e. Makuta of Metru Nui or the Makuta of Zakaz), or they're name (Chirox, Icarax, Vamprah, etc.).
So the Makuta from 2003 IS the Makuta of Metru Nui, he just moved on up to Mata Nui once his little pact with Vakama was nullified, (something about giving the newly amnesia'd Matoran and their Turaga elders several years of peace before he would be allowed to attack them again).

I like the idea of a reverse universe of sorts. Do you have a link to this online story/comic featuring this former-one-hit wonder? Or is it not out yet?
I'm going to get Nuparu and Hewkii, later. I have made it a personal goal to get one of each Toa from each group, even all six if I can.
BIONICLE just got so much cooler. XBL GT: SPLITTLIP Quote:

BIONICLE just got so much cooler. | I love the new Takanuva, as well. He looks fantastic!
Pictures of the three other Toa Nuva have been released as well. If you'd like me to post them, I'd be glad to. |
