No problem but I am 100% sure that the scenes were used as toy commercials in the various stores in my country. At the end of each scene, the toys were displayed.

I remembered because I was impressed with the Mata Nu being chased on the vehicle and him with the rest of the cast taking on the Skralls.

Bionicle Heroes sucked IMO. It was non-canon, lame, and required no skill to play. The first Bionicle game was better, even if it was extremely short.

IMO, Lego needs to call up Bethesda and make an open world Oblivion-style Bionicle game on Bara Magna or even better (and less likely), the MU. THEN I might consider putting a Bionicle game in my Xbox 360 again. I think Bionicle's huge universe could work with a game like that, as long as it's CANON. I hate this non-canon shit they've been pulling out of their asses. >.<

That's actually why I like it. Easy to play. Although the non canon stuff kinda bothered me.

But why I really like it is because of the TONS of unlockables and extras. Masks, characters, and achievements. Not to mention secret areas, and areas that can only be accessed with upgraded abilities.

But I agree. An oblivion style game based on the BM would be awesome.

It could implement Fallout 3 aspects too, but the MU would be much more fun to play with those aspects. My friend suggested a system like VATS that could be implemented when wearing a Sanok.

Picked up my first two legends. Mata Nui and Vastus. As per my regular, I will do reviews. (I know some of teh legends have been reviewed here, but after I reviewed all the Glatorian people still posted theirs, so I don't see the problem)

    First up is Mata Nui:

Mata Nui is a big name in Bionicle, since he literally was the Universe up until about a year ago. Now he's been given a "mere seven foot tall body" (since they just love to drill home his exact height and how it's soo small compared to his old body) and that body has been given two sets, one of which is this one.

Physically, Mata Nui is your average canister set design changed and tweeked enough to be quite different. He has a very ornamental design that the Glatorian and Legends have adopted. He has many curved points and smooth, round designs that are reminisent of decorative swords and sheilds found in the ancient Oriental. These are in the form of his upper arms, sheild, and upper and lower legs, as well as his new mask/helmet. His shield is technically Click, a beetle who was cursed after touching the mask into being the weapon. It really isn't much of a sheild outside of melee combat. I could see it being able to block sword and club hits if it was weilded correctly, but I can't help thinking of it as an offensive weapon because of, well, the blades.

In this set, Mata Nui comes armed with a thornax launcher. It is in my humble opinion that the only sets to incorperate the weapon in a handheld fashion properly is Gresh, who's is one removable assembly, instead of built directly into the hand. Regardless, it's simple, attractive, and functional. His mask is the mask of life, adapted to fit a Glatorian head. I have to say I like this a lot more than the old mask. It's rounder, a little smaller but retains all the details. All the molded details are sharp and clean and really stand out here. This is one of my favourite LEGO parts ever. He also has two new connectors for his arms which are great, and uses Onua's chest peice whichlooks great.

Posability-wise he does a lot with a little. "But Split Lip, you dashing picture of grace, virtue and the true essance of male attractiveness," you may ask "How is that when he has all the standard canister set joints that usually allow for excellent range of motion?" Well, that is because while his joints appear restricted and are to an extent, he can still do all the "right" poses. For example, his shoulders have those large, imovable blades, the upside is all his body can move around it. Make sense? His colours have been an issue of debate. My pictures make the yellow look a lot closer to a "cheese" colour, but he's really not, but he's not pure yellow. the black works great to off-set the yellow and is strategically placed rather than just one-colour connectors and one-colour limbs.

Overall I was impressed with Mata Nui, and I was expecting a lot, too. He's loads of fun to play with, especially with the action figure game, with an engaging, if not overly-complex, build, and he just looks great. Again, that mask is awesome detailing. Recommended.

I'm not pleased with the Spikit again. I made the mistake of pulling Spinax (Came with Maxilos in 2007, in case he's been forgotten) and comparing them. Bad idea. Spinax poses better, his body doesn't get in the way of the limbs and while his colour scheme is boring- if it wasn't for the red eyes, he'd look like he's just walked out of a 50's horror film.

I wonder what happens if one of the Spikit's heads is killed anyway? Can the other keep on fighting, or will it die too? Or what happens if the marriage goes wrong and they have to file for divorce?

I agree. The new Ignika is much better than the old one.

EDIT: Just wanted to show my customs I built on vacation using MN and Ackar:

    And now, Vastus:

Vastus, straight up, is awesome. He may be my favourite set so far. I've always loved the green guys, and this is deffinately the shining star. He's supposed to be an old war veteran, who has deep regrets about what he did in that war, and so, he does whatever he can to atone. I like this kind of character, because I always like to see how they go with him.

Vastus takes your typical canister build, and does a total 180, both figuratively and literally. The reversed torso (as it is) works because the ugly bar that goes down the stomach is covered by an Inika thigh guard, and works. He's got freaking awesome snake armour. His shoudlers are each two snake criss-cross. Very organic and ornate. His helmet is very cool. It's a basic helmet design, then with a snake comign all the way from back to brow, with it's fangs between the eyes and mouth. There are three "tails" hanging off that look great. Even his blade is one long snake coiling up to the head, with the fangs being the blade. I love this detail. His legs are very thin and snake-like. One draw-back to some may be that the staff is attached to both hands, but really, it's no problem.

His colours are much like Gresh, only with more green instead of black. The lime green and dark green work well with the light touch of silver on the blade (to show it's weathered) and Thornax launcher work well. Unlike Gresh, he has a green head, which works better than a red one would since there's little black. Again, the sculpt lines are clean, sharp and show detail great especially considering there's no paint at all. These new parts should be great for MOCists.

Posabilty is great, but the arms are limited because of the staff, but really, not many poses you could get without it in both because he'd have nothing for his other hand to hold. Overall, he's awesome. Just, awesome. He's the closest set I'd give the label of "perfect" to. Highly recommended.

Nice to see someone else likes him. My only problem is that the snake shoulder pieces are so stylized, I can't find another use for them.

Cool. I need to get Gresh, Tarduk, a Zesk, and a Vorox and I'm completed for the Agori and the Glatorian sets! :ev:

And another Tarix set, since I took apart my first one.

I love Vastus. I should have gotten him after Ackar instead of Gelu. His whole look meshes so well. Between the snake armor and the scythe, he is just so cool. And unique. One of the most unique looking canister sets I have.

Kiina is growing on me. Her torso isn't overly awesome, but a love her trident and leg/shoulder armor.

So for Glatorians, I feel that we got a great new canister line for 2009. My favorite since the newness of the Inika. Their is a three-way tie between Gresh, Ackar, and Vastus as my favorite canister set of 2009.

And of course, we got TTMN. That set should seal the deal as the best year ever set-wise. Now if I could only get into the story.................................
