I'd recommend Warrior but that might just be because of my love of his asymmetric armor and multiple weapons.

Before I take them apart, here are my (lackluster) attempts at making rebooted Toa Kaita. I think the reason they they look so weird is because I added gearboxes into their hips.

Makuta sure knows how to look threatening.
    But that neck and shoulders....
    That isn't his protector form.

He's also not wearing the Mask of Ultimate Power...but then again, neither is Ekimu's set form, so take that as you will.

Also, how does anyone know that the Skull Spiders are under Makuta's control? Is it explained in the novel?

Anyone else loving Pohatu and his massive Australian-ness?

I'd still take it with a grain of salt, given that the last few leaks were trolls.

Also, I'm not liking the idea of Reboot!Makuta's name actually being Umarak. IMO, I think this time his name should actually BE Makuta.

Ekimu took off the MOUP from Makuta.

According to Aanchir from EB, who's read the book, yes. The protectors think the spiders are under his control, and Ekimu
thinks skull grinder is also under his control.
CM4Sci has been a reliable source for years. Also the S@H verification method works on these sets apparently.

Just because he's got the MoCo doesn't mean he's now makuta.

Maybe the toa win against Umarak in the winter storyline, and then Umarak finds the MoCo, gets some creatures under his control and proceeds to get his revenge against the toa & Ekimu?

I don't think a single one of those sets was assembled correctly.

It was kinda funny. It felt, like, exactly like Arby and the Chief, though. Right down to the "new toys cause problems for the old ones while Microsoft Sam is the nice and understanding one and Microsoft Mike is the bumbling immature one."
