This year marks the 25th anniversary of this awesome series
I still remember the shock (OK, and the joy, I admit) when I first saw Fyana and the consequential whispering among the boys in the classroom next day, "hey, um, did you watch that new show?"
I don't know if any other mecha besides Scopedog is recreated this many times by various manufacturer. Takara, Yamato, Kaiyodo and Max Factory release Scopedog figures, and Takara and WAVE have produced model kits while Bandai came to the scene at last recently.
(Did CM's make Scopedog, too? I know they do the ones from Blue Knight.)
Many 70s and 80s robot/mecha toys are selling well mostly as a high-end collectors item with "refined" new look.
Scopedog remains pretty much the same, stocky and somewhat plain.
So, I know there aren't many Votoms AT fans here, but if you have any, how are your Dogs/Turtles/Tortoises/Beetles/etc doing?
I am still kicking myself for missing out on Melkia coloured DMZ dog, gotten over the fact that I won't be able to get Microman Arron and Gurran.
Here are the pictures of DMZ Dog with the Red Shoulder custom parts
Post your pictures, or just let us know how you are doing
I hope to take more pictures, too.

EDIT: Here's Yamato pics and some models of mine...
First is a heavily modded WAVE/Takara 1/24 kit with all new joints and some other mods, but not great pics...
Here's some Yamato glamour shots... I've got like six or seven of these now... the pictured ones have my elbow mod (which I plan to do to all of my Yammies) which increases elbow mobility by a ratchet click or two (enough to go bast 90 degrees) and increases stability a bit... these figs are great, but need some joint tightening due to their immense size...
Here's one of the Max Factory PVC figs... they aren't bad, but aren't great either, and the head is suuuper too big.... I painted and detailed it anyway...
And finally, here's one of the ancient Takara 1/35 models... I did this a long time ago, so the paintwork is really rough, but these still hold up really well.... I sculpted the fist for this kit as the original one was hideous...
It's too bad I didn't manage to take pics of my latest kit... the new Bandai 1/20 Brutishdog... it's one of my best kits to-date... Prometheus Rising-My gallery site for models, toy customs, and whatever else!

I took my Max35 Bloodsucker out tonight. It's not very ATish IMO but I still like it.
At this moment I only buy DMZ series, but the new Actic Gear 25th anniversary Scopedog is tempting.
Talking about DMZ, I have just preordered 06 ( http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/i...0059916&sr=1-2 ) just because my normal dog is damaged. Otherwise I wouldn't have bothered with this one.... Time for a new mould, TakaraTomy-san! I would be really happy if they make Brutishdog with Fyana (in white and purple suit of course ). |

The latest released was the customed red shoulder one - which i felt was too similar to the Metal Specs and regular Scopedog I got! As usual, Bandai will milk the mould before we get to see a Strikedog or Standing Turtle! LOL! |
