Medicom and a slew of other lesser known 1/6 companies are below Sideshow's recent leaps in quality. PREORDER 66 - The High-end Toy Podcast We're always looking for listener questions and feedback!

During the brief spell I collected them a "little fixing" with Sideshow figures seemed to involve, 1.Replacing the base body for something that could stand under it's own weight in a variety of poses....TrueTypes aren't cheap. 2.Getting a customiser to do a complete repaint of the headsculpt because the stock paint apps were so poor. 3.Replacing parts of attire with custom made pieces that actually fit the figure properly. Of the 8 I owned the only one I kept longer than a fortnight was ANH Obi-Wan and that was only because I found a decent custom Jedi robe to replace the stock one which was falling to bits straight from the package. The rest required too much work to look decent and I decided that those issues shouldn't be there on a figure of that price so I just resold them. I have now owned about 15 HT figures plus the first Enterbay Bruce Lee and the only issue I've had is the fading crotch armor on my Iron Man Mark VI which appears to be an easy-ish fix. Other than that the only "work" required is stuff like adding the accessories to Jack Sparrow's belt or putting the extra outfit and head on the extra Bruce Lee body which is straightforward enough because everything always fits as it's supposed to. I've seen articles where people soak Sideshow's attire in water to get it to fit properly plus all the repainting of heads and the like and think it's a sad reflection of how good they actually are when most of their stuff only looks passable once extensive customisation has been done. crasis, Call whatever you like, it makes no difference to my opinion.

They have been making improvements to their figures though that is for sure. HT still beats them out but they are at least trying to up their game. ![]() http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/junkio...58-empir3.html - My Feedback Twitter: @TheEmpir3 |

Your arguments listed above would hold water if this was still 2008. But Sideshow's recent offerings, particularly in the G.I. Joe line, have been remarkable and way beyond those $65 Star Wars figures from back in the day. Their approach to business has changed quite a bit, as they realized collectors cared more about accuracy and quality than price. So they evolved. They had to. For you to say they make "the worst" high-end figures on the market today is flat out wrong. PREORDER 66 - The High-end Toy Podcast We're always looking for listener questions and feedback!

After my previous experiences there's absolutely no way I'd give any Sideshow product a second glance even if they made characters from franchises I'm into ( which they do ) because it would be playing Russian Roulette with my cash.
