I with I had pictures of these guys, but I lost them before I even thought about where they may have come from. It was a couple of red, white & blue robots who turned into a jet, and some kind of crab/flying saucer thing.

The jet pretty much stood up on its engines and the cockpit rotated down to form the head, and the sides of the flying saucer rotated around to become arms, and claws rotated out from inside the arms. They were both pull-back toys too, but beyond that I don't know what else to say about them.

Nope, these things were pretty simple, and cheap too. Like, throttlebot simple.

No it's all together. Very simply transformation. The ship goes from being a oval flying saucer type ship to standing up, the sides of the ship rotate 360 degrees to become the arms with a simple hinge in the center for the "eblows, no hands just end in blunt formarm, I want to say one sided pincer, but that might get confusing. and then the front of the ship is a type of cockpit that swivels up to make a semi robot head.
O, one thing, the friction motor would alow it to walk in robot mode ala wind up toy style. Red arms, white back, blue undercarrige and head.

They have pull back motors that let them roll in vehicles mode and walk in robot mode. The manufacturers stamp says Tomy on both. Japan on the spaceship and Singapore on the race car.

They were released in two ways.

They were released as "Super Alternators" domestically.
They were also released as "Commandrons" through McDonald's restaraunts.

So that's what those are! I've got three out of the four somewhere around this place - don't think I ever got the car.

Wow, so that's what they were! This has been killing me. It's not an easy thing to do if you're searching for "transforming jet plane toy" on google. I had completely forgotten that they could walk in robot mode, too.

They must have been Super Alternators when I had them, because the stickers were different from the Commandrons.

Huh, I think I have one of those too. Not even sure where it came from, as I don't think I would have knowingly paid money for it :)

I almost bought those at an antique store. Kinda wish I did now, they were $0.25 each.
