The RAH style comic packs were, until 25th anyway, the best thing to happen Joe-wise in over a decade. However, I say that as someone whose first love other than Star Wars, before Transformers had even made it out of the Idea Department at Hasbro, was the GIJoe comic. Repainting frankenfigured/new part RAH style figures as they looked in the comic was friggin' brilliant, enough so for me that I bought two of ALL of them.
Guess I should have expected this. Probably read about it at some point but forgot since there were no pics to associate with the idea. That said, while I like 'em, they're missing the wow factor of having the (more-or-less) original toys painted up like they were originally depicted.
These three in particular are kinda hit and miss. Blue comic/toon Snake Eyes and yellow-highlighted CC look good for what they're going for. Hawk is more "1982 Hawk 2.0" toy than a comic version, which should be a brighter green, but I do reallyreally like it for that reason anyway. The other half of the respective packs are just okay. |
