SDCC 2007 Haul

Not 100% sure if this should go here or the Convention section so mods feel free to move it if need be.

Anyways, SDCC 2007 was my first time going to Comic-con and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life (so far). Just an amazing place, nice comfortable setting, tons and tons to see and do, lots of free schwag, etc.

I do plan on posting pictures once my camera's battery finishes charging, and will post more tomorrow once I get the pics from the other camera from my friend.

Sadly I was unable to get Alt. Rodimus Prime..I did get a ticket for tomorrow morning but I was only going to be there today (Thursday) so that didn't do much for me. Was really pissed with HTS for how they organized it, a first come first served basis would have been much much much better because that was like the one thing I just HAD to buy, but I digress.

Bought a couple comics, didn't get any Transformers (since HTS was stupid and no one could buy anything). I did visit Hasbro's main booth and got some pics of the upcoming figures (none of them were anything we haven't seen). Just let me tell you, after seeing Leader Brawl in person...OMFG I can't wait to get my hands on one.

So yeah, pics of my haul coming in a bit.

Now for the pics.

Gonna start with some more generic haul stuff, nothing special here:

Now to get to some of my more..prized things I picked up.

First, the Marvel Civil War Trade Paperback:

An autographed DC Countdown promo:

Penny Arcade postcard signed by Gabe and Tycho (was so happy to meet them)

Batman: The Killing Joke

The first of two items I plan to get framed. Gargoyles #1 signed by Weisman and Hedgecock:

Now the absolute PRIZE of my entire haul, and I got it for free. A drawing of my all time favorite DC girl, sketched by Daniel Acune, personalized even...Harley Quinn (series of pics ^_^). I plan to frame this and put it right by my bed:

Basically, you had to show up at either 10am (when the show opened) or at 2pm. They had a guy with a bucket randomly giving out tickets. To get a ticket you had to SHOW UP at that time, if you were waiting there already they wouldn't give you a ticket.

Now, once you got your ticket, they had a board. This board had a list of ticket numbers. You had to compare your ticket number with those on the board and come back at the time your ticket matches to, even if it is for the next day (yeah...)

So, you go back to the line at your time...and got to wait in line to pick up what you wanted.

This was the absolute only way to purchase ANYTHING AT ALL from them.

That is by far the stupidest, most illogical, and unstandardized method of forming a queue at a large convention that I have ever heard.

Awesome haul though!

I KNOW! I had heard about the problems from people on here, but I still didn't believe the horror stories were really as bad as they ended up really being. They really dropped the ball with this, they should have just done a first come, first served basis and just left the damn line open.

Well, this really throws my plan of a friend at Comicon picking up a Rodimus for me into doubt.

How the Animated toy line REALLY came to an end

There's really no way for them to win without getting a booth maybe at the back of the floor so the line could go out the door. Security wouldn't let them have the line wrap around.

Last year was slightly more interesting, as they basically had a "bouncer" who made sure people couldn't just stand around, but would try and remember you if you came by & told him you wanted in line - then you'd come by 10 mins. later or whatever & he'd let you in line.

The tickets was an overreaction I think to the line problems they had on preview night.
