Some anecdotal evidence of the resurgence in Gundam's popularity in the US: less than a week ago, Tate's Comics in Florida had half a dozen 1/144 Barbatos kits. This is a store where product tends to either fly off the shelves or sit around for a long time. In this case, it was the former--they were all gone when I went back today. Looks like I'm not the only local who's enjoying Iron-Blooded Orphans.

It's funny that you said that, because they are also popping up at Barnes and Nobles as well. The Graze(Normal/Schwalbe.) and Barbatos. All it needs is a run on toonami to rise it's fla...I mean popularity.

It's really damn good so far. Episode 7's action really kicked it up for me. Admittedly the first few fights were underwhelming for me but now that we're seeing super competent pilots now it's real good!

Anyways I said I was gonna get The Origin Char's Zaku II today...and I did! Picture time!

Hell yeah. I goddamn love these kits!

Oh man, looks like I have to catch the show then. My buddies have been saying good things about it but I've been too busy to watch it.

Wowzers! You sure built it fast and your pose with the kit looks good - along with Black Tri-star Zaku IIs!

I realized that the kits look good without painting but I guess I have become very fussy in terms of nub marks that I have resorted to spray painting my kits via cans.

Although the end results look good, I'm having serious thoughts about it as it's quite time consuming and once the paint is dry, I have to be careful in handling them - in case, I nick the paint.

I don't know what series that MS is from but it looks good! Well done!

Still deciding if I should get the MG RX-78 (The Origin version) and MG Hiyaku-Shiki 2.0... I got so much backlog! Example, MG RX 3.0, MG Nu Gundam, MG Sazabi etc

That shot with Char's Zaku and the Black Tri Stars in the background really motivates me to start working on mine! Beautiful posing dude.

When I got back into Gundam I was tellin' myself that this is gonna be real fun. I mean, I used to paint Warhammer 40K minis but painting takes up time and right now, I just wanna build. I've got some projects I wanna do lined up that involve full paint jobs so once I feel ready I'm gonna get into that.

But yeah...I kinda tend to build kits fast. I said it awhile back but I'm just coming back into Gundam after stopping in 2004 or around then, and I was pretty good at building fast then also. I get so eager to get to the final product pretty much all the time. :lol

Panel lining as I build, instead of finishing it then doing all of that helps too.

As far as the posing goes...thanks. I've been doing posing for a long while now, way back in my 1/6th scale figure days.

I've got Little SD Command Gundam coming in tomorrow. I'm thinking of actually painting MOST of it, save for the eyes. Maybe give it a bit of battle damage and scuffing as if it were a real weapon of war.
    Because war, war never changes.

Is this another version of the PG Unicorn? If so, when / where is it available? I already have the Unicorn and the Banshee (still waiting to be built)... I'd love to have another variation :)

Legend BB Command Gundam will be the first Gundam where I'm actually going to paint MOST of it. All but the plated chrome silver V-crest is gonna get paint.
The kelly green plastic doesn't shout "Military hoo-ah!" So much as Tamiya XF-62 Olive Drab does, the silver plastic looks more like a pale steel, so my Tamiya Chrome will be doing that, the gold plastic doesn't look quite right, so I'm certain my Testors enamel Gold will do the trick, and the gunmetal could use a coat of flat.
'Course those grenade spoons could use a touch of paint, period.

Yeah, I get the appeal of fast builds...at one stage, I would do so (507 years ago)...the advantages are that I can fiddle with the kits fast and I would try out different poses for them and fit them with the different weapons!

Looks good but I'm wary of the quality as I have never heard of the company before.

Oh man, life on a farm must be very interesting with so many animals around. Unfortunately for me, my country is too small for farms...

Interesting at times, but it can be tough. Though it were the holiday today, we still had the unfortunate loss of a prized heifer to a rotten gut (bad hay, competition, bad weather). And it was the bitter 'Bungie' level math: tag #143, at eight months of age and our eighth loss this year. Only thing to do is be grateful for our herd and take care of the living the best we can.

I'm curious - how large is your herd? Life on the farm sure sounds interesting.

May I know why you rear cattle? Is it for milk production or to sell them for food - my apologies if I offend you with my questions.

I get these questions all the time, it's no big deal.

My Family bought the adjacent land next to our home from a friend, and we just put cows out on it. 20 years later it's just me and my father currently running 84 head on 36 acres with at least two calves due in the next few weeks.

We're a 'cow/calf' operation selling beef cattle. we sell our steers , 'cutters' (old retired cows) and heifers we'd prefer not to have in our herds (because genetics! ) at the stockmarket. and before you ask, no we've never knowingly eaten one of our own, but I did bite into a McDonalds burger that smelled familiar.

blurring the lines into 'on topic, off topic' because I have the liberty of naming them, I have five named after Gundam characters. We bought Charolais from a friend, one of which I named Mineva who gave me Jegan and Miss Sazabi and then there's Sayla who gave us Artesia. Sayla's first calf I called Zaku, but she was a runt and sold at market in the spring. Her tag number was #14 and I'm glad I didn't call her Gelgoog because of how small she was. So "Cannon Fodder Zaku" was her nickname.

    no "Amooooro" yet.

Hahaha on the Amoooorooo joke! If my country was that small, I would love to do what you and your father are doing.

I also can't bear the thought of eating an animal that I reared. One elderly friend I knew was devastated when one of the piglets she kept was slaughtered...back then my country was a back water region so there were farms all over the place.

Anyway going back to Gundam related stuff, I just picked up the Revive Guncannon! I'm quite excited by the revive line. But going slow as I'm going to the Robot Tamashii line to fill my 'One Year War' needs.

I took advantage of Barnes and Noble's 30% off during Black Friday to pick up the HG Try Burning Gundam. I don't know anything about the suit or the show (kinda bummed it isn't a new version of G Gundam's Burning Gundam :lol ), but pics online looked pretty cool.

I have to say, it's even better than I thought it would be. The last 1/144 Gundam I built was the Arios, which was pretty fragile (and quite a bit bigger. Scale is weird, I guess). This, on the other hand, feels pretty durable. At least similar to the Star Wars kits. I also love how his hands are hinged. Just adds to the fun.

Speaking of which, those effect parts are sick! The kit itself is great by itself, but all of that fire just takes it over the top.

I realize that most everyone on here is way more experienced with this sort of stuff (probably have a "been there, done that" sorta vibe), but I just wanted to gush a bit. I really like this guy :D .
