The thing is that the back of the toy had the card for regular supes(with orange doomsday, steel, and parasite)I dont know if this can be considered variant or not, but i thought it was wierd. Does anybody know a website that lists chase figures for this series?? I'm confused about the regular superman with the yellow S and the superman with the black S. Thanks!! |

What I've heard is that he's going to be in some cases as a "variant" of Supes. My guess is that in later waves, he'll be more common, much like what happened with the black "S" Supes and S-girl. I do really hope Cyborg Supes and black/gray Supes will be easily available to retail store outets though. |

Thanks!! | I don't believe the cardboard backing will make it a variant. It's the new purple packaging that Mattel has recently changed to, like their Justice League Unlimited line. When I bought my Kal-El Supes, it had the pic of regular Supes, Parasite, etc. on back also. As for the black S Supes, it's just that, a variant version from the yellow S Supes. |

The back of Darkseid's card was interesting, though. The co-sells were Kal-El, Supergirl (blue costume) and Black Costume Superman, with Darkseid, Mongul and Parasite on the villains side. Pure speculation, but I can't see them prominently displaying a variant as a co-sell, so maybe Black Costume Superman is going to be somewhat easier to find. However, the lack of any mention of Cyborg Superman makes me think that figure is going to be a pain to find at retail. |

I see a lot of online retailers listing both of these figures as online exclusives, but I'm thinking that's not the case. I think it's just the particular case packs are online exclusive. Notice that the new packaging doesn't come with a comic like the old ones did? BBTS says that their case packs -listed as online exclusive- will have a special comic. Perhaps that's the actual exclusive... I seriously doubt that Mattel would put an online exclusive on the back of their cards as a co-sell.
On another interesting note... just won Blue Suit Super Girl off eBay for $20 shipped. So, she's showing up somewhere huh? And I swore I'd never pay more than retail for these guys... My Junkion Exchange Feedback Thread |
