big bad toy store has them, and so does ebay, while they are attactive, they're not very impressive compared to beast wars at the time they came out, far far too much clear plastic and cheap chrome makes up the bodies. now if you do get some i suggest getting the japanese ones appose to american dinozone.
Yeah these guys are kind of brittle. I had almost all of them but quickly sold them before the crumbled. They we're still pretty cool tho I still have 2 deluxe ones to get rid of.
Yeah, great figs, but they are brittle.. and impossible to get rid of. I've been trying like heck to get rid of my Brachio and my Tricera Brothers for the longest time.
IMO there is a difference between the US and Japanese versions...I find the Japanese ones er, more durable. The dragon figure that I owed is still standing strong after all these years and yeah, he resembles Movie Megatron!
Get the Chinese dragon one "Gigano Drago" I think his name is. Out of all the ones I own, he;s the only one that never gave me problems (They didn't break but most of them had joint problems where the joints would be difficult to move or get stuck and needed to be adjusted so they'd move again). Plus, he's huge(length wise) when in dragon mode. The only thing that I don't like about him is his lack of articulation. In robot mode, his head turns left to right, his arms move forwards, backwards, and in and out AND his elbows bend and can turn(just like the 3&3/4th G.I.Joe figures arm articulation), his hand can fold in and out, and his feet can turn left to right. His legs have barely any movement forward or at his knees because of his transformation. His hand can fold in(as i mentioned earlier) to become a sword and his other arm has his dragon head for a hand(like beast wars megs and his t-rex head/hand). The dragon head/hand has a neat jaw lunging/snapping gimmick that works in both modes. His dragon mode has a ton of articulation running from nose to tail. That's pretty much it. Just be careful with any of these guys (especially when moving Gigano Drago's horns out forward on his robot head or in for his transformation into dragon mode. I had to returnthe first one i bought at toys r us because one of the horns snapped clear off. the second figure of him i bought to replace it has horns that are much stronger but still be gentle with this guy. especially with his robot head horns). The plastic they are made from is the kind commonly used for chome parts and the kind used for translucent parts(both of which from my experience with transformers can prove to be not as sturdy as regular colored plastics). I treat all of them more as collector toys not meant for rought play but for gentle play and posing. They can still be played with and are reallyfun toys, you just gotta be gentle with them since they are more like collector pieces than mass marketed toys. If you want a figure that you can have fun with and not have to be gentle with then I suggest the T-rex dinozaur. He's sturdy and the only problem I had with him was his hip joints getting stuck at times(which can easily be fixed. the ball part of his hip rotation joint is made up of 2 halves. sometimes they seperate but can be popped back together. it is also very easy to tell if they are like this and it is also very easy to see what you need to do and how to pop them back together because the plastic around them is translucent red.) The only other problem I had with him was a small locking tab breaking off of his grey plastic sword. Luckily, because of the way the sword is, it still holds together just as strong without this tab. Personally, this small tab isn't even necessary and is more of a nuisance than anything. So it's your call man. If you wanna try 'em then go ahead and buy 'em. If not then don't worry at all, you're not missing anything fantastic. They are just cool for what they are : Chromed Skeletons of dinosaurs, prehistoric animals, and dragons built around Translucent plastic bodies that transform into robots with weapons. That's all.
Yeah, the fluctuating plasic quality seems to be an issue with both the Japanese and US versions. It's happened to me, and I've also seen people mention it before.
