I'm still hopelessly waiting for Bandai to give the Andromeda the Soul of Popynica treatment. My Yamato needs a sister ship to accompany her in my display case.
the sad thing is that they amount to nothing more then way over priced micro machines, didn't catch the price on the starter set, but the booster packs are about $22 at Target and the box only has 7 minitures
I really wish i had saved the link, but years ago a stumbled accross a guy's page who did some amazing stuff out of legos, he did a gorgeous Nebekenezzer (sp?) from the matrix.. the thing was like 4' long.. i googled and found one, it it wasn't the same one.. pity it would have been a perfect addition to this thread..
Awesome man, I still need that Maul hover thing and Vaders Jedi Starfighter. Tempted to get the big $20 version, it looks pretty cool in black
There was also a dude who made a huge lego Serenity from Firefly as well. The thing lit up and had moving parts. Hell if I can find the link anymore though
This has been over at my parents house for the past few days and I haven't been able to get it because of weather & work. But I was able to grab it today. For the resurection of the thread, I present to you Leiji Matsumoto's original design for Captian Harlock's space battleship. The Arcadia! The anime version was blue, but I decided to go w/ the "original" color scheme, as it fits in better w/ my other Arcadia. With the other Arcadia... Both Arcadia's & Yamato And just like the "modern" Arcadia, the bridge, engine, & cabin lights up and the guns rotate. It's also made of glorious diecast metal.
Hehe, oops. Didn't even catch that. Thanks. another one, while I'm here: A fairly interesting Yamato from the Mechanic File line. It's just over 14" long and made entirely of plastic, making it a *very* low-cost alternative to the big boys. The great part about this version is that you can break it down to a bazillion small pieces and reassemble it again - Or leave some of the panels off to display the inner workings within the ship - Or even examine the Wave Motion engine from bow to stern. Also comes with a small contingent of fighters that can be stored in bays. There are some downsides, though. Because of the way it's designed, the completed mode will never be seamless (unless you glue it... which is defeating) and a lot of the parts don't fit together very well. While assembling it the first time, you will undoubtedly laugh, pray, curse, and ultimately weep. I've found that performing a small rain-dance prior to merging large sections usually does the trick.
Got and built this a wile ago. Am a huge Star Destroyer fan so it's really a shame we don't get more of these guys especially the Super Star Destroyer, though the Titaniums have been awesome.
I love that model SWCA, are you going to paint it? Still need to paint mine. Might spray it with some krylon light gray if I can find any Another ship I forgot about I need to get all the metal stuff I can find and bring it to OWAT's house to combine materials and start welding a frikn mothership to end all muthas
