I used to be a huge fan of the marvel legends line but lately I looked over my legends and I am not really as impressed. I only own a few dc direct items(hal jorcan rebirth, all long halloween villans, and superman, batman, and shazam from supes/bats) and I think they blow the legends I have away. I mean I have staired at my long halloween villans for ever especially two face. Some of my legends like cyclops looks terrible and the paint is awful. Even thogh the dcdirects are not as poseable as legends the sculpts are tighter and look much better.Speaking of tight sculpts, I really can't wait to own the dark victory scarecrow and penguin; they look awesome! My legends just seem frail and always ready to fall over and not wanting to hold their weapons correctly. The most recent legends I have received is the white(silver!) moon knight, he looks pretty good but he is real loose feeling. Am I the only one losing faith in marvel legends? I can't wait for some of the figures offered in upcoming assortments but I feel like I will probably be disappointed when I actually get them. I really hope that is not the case though. I am really starting to like dc direct over legends and I thought that would never happen. Anybody else feel the same?

I gave up on them some time ago, and sold all but my very favorites. The quality control was just piss-poor, the paint sloppy, and the joints floppy. Not to mention that the plastic they use is very waxy and feels cheap. The only thing I miss are the great build-a-figs.

Depends. Some Marvel Legends are superb, Black Panther is probably the best ML I've ever seen. On the flip side, Wonder man uses the same mold, but QA issues really kill it.

DC Direct always have decent sculpts, but the lack of posability really kill it for me. I mean, I only have a few DC guys, from the Hush line, and after I opened Huntress and Poison Ivy, I didn't bother to open my Catwoman and Harley Quinn.

So yeah, ML for me, but their QA issues really let the line down.

I like the both, but only specific figures. Some ML's are great and others really suck. I don't really like all that articulation because it detracts from the sculpt and I'm sick of floppy joints.

Some DC Direct toys are awesome, but I'd like to see a little more articulation in most of them. I sort of wish they all fit together better - the artist inspired sculpts on some figures make them pretty much incompatible with others.

So basically, I buy the ones that I like and both have their strengths and weaknesses.

I agree on all counts. The Kaiyodo figures I own always put them to shame, despite having less articulation, and made me wonder why the hell I was buying them.

I agree about the black panther figure, it was great! I was impressed with the poseability of the green lantern rebirth hal jordan, that's enough poseability for me. Only thing that detracts from the figure is they don't mesh well with each other like the bulky superman/batman figures compared to the thinner rebirth figures.

Hmm, a big part of it for me is which one I know better/gotten to like more. I've never been a huge DCer and while both lines have their pluses, I favor Marvel because I'm simply more familiar with it, especially the X-men.

I own many more DC direct mostly because I was going for a JLA vs LOD. Most articulation is fin by me but I hate that my Cheeta falls even with a stand.

I agree ML figures suck. The paint work is horrid, and I can understand mixing main Marvel and X-men and Spider-man and Avengers etc..... but I wish more assortments were better themed.

Where have all of you been? For years I felt I was wandering alone in the desert, while hordes of collectors were being seduced by Marvel Legends. Now I see have have brothers in spirit, if not in arms, who also choose to blaspheme against the Line of the Holy Collectors by calling them on the sins of Sloppy Paint and Floppy Joints. I am alone no longer. *weeps*

You aren't the only one, dude! In my country I have been blasting ML's QC for the last few waves. Example, bad paint job and loose joints being the main culprits! Other than that my maon gripe is the inconsistency in the 'sculpts'. Some of the ML's look great like FO Hulk and Captain America and Black Panther, while on the other hand we can have horrors like the Scarlet Witch!

While DC Direct doesn't have "super" articulation, most of them have decent articulation...and although some of them have sloppy paint jobs, most of the paint job's decent. The only DC Direct line that disappointed me was Hush because some of the weapons were "unremovable". Example, Joker's gun.

I can't vouch for DCD because I don't own any of it, even though I wanted to put together a JLA team to go with ML Avengers that I have. I am still very much a ML guy but yeah the horrid QC is putting a major damper on the line and I am considering quitting the line altogether. I love Longshot but I returned the one I bought because you can see the pin that holds the hand together clearly and the paint app was sloppy. I still want all the Mojo and Modok MLs for collection but after that I will stop.

After reading all the latest horror stories regarding the latest ML, I've decided once I get my hands on Captain Marvel, I'm done with this line.

I'd hate for you to give it up on our account. Shouldn't you base this decision on your own happiness with the line? I wasn't thrilled with the majority of figures I bought early in the line, and left very early. But if you've hung on this long, clearly we're seeing something different. And who knows what will get better (or worse) with Hasbro taking over?

I'm not huge collector of ML though I'm more familiar with their characters, but before giving up on them.. wait to see what hasbro brings to the line since they are taking it over if i'm not mistaken. Course we all know that they can have their issues with QC too

Actually, IMHO most of the time feedback from the posters on these boards are very accurate so I take them seriously - that's why I love this board! LOL!

I have always been extremely pleased with the ML line since it first came out but I have noticed a drop in QC for the line in recent waves. One of the attractions of the ML line is the sculpt of the toys - they look "realistic" and I prefer my action figures not to have a "cartoony" or "kiddish" look.

However, after seeing preview pictures of ML released by Hasbro and some of the latest ML figures, I'm afraid this line no longer meets my expectations. Check the link below:

    http://i.toynewsi.com/g/index.php?mode=album&album=Hasbro%2FMarvel_Legends%2FSeries_1%2F&dispsize=600&start=0

After the the "quality" of the sculpts seen in the ML "Face-off" series, the upcoming lines and some of the latest releases have been stinkers. Example, Psylocke, Zemo.

The worse part is ML does not come easy in my country and is imported in...so rather than spending my hard earn cash on toys that no longer meet my expectations, I'll spend the money on some other stuff...
