We both thought it was a Voltron/Transformers/Ultra Man rip-off. Now to hear that they're about to celebrate their 15th year and still have new episodes being filmed sounds unbelievable to me. I know it's true and all but there's still this quasi-state of disbelief.

I always say that I'll never watch Power Rangers again. But every year I get roped into it somehow
Let's see at 15 years this means I was about 13 years old when Power Rangers first started BotCon 2006 |

If you watch the various PR shows it's obvious that as the show progressed over the years the Zords as the monsters ended up looking less "Fake" if you catch what I'm saying.
That was the one thing that irked me about Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, at the time the Megazord looked so fake. At least nowadays the Zords actually look sweet
And I HATED the look of the Ninja Megazord in the movie.I like the Ninja zords in the series WAY better. At least the PR:Turbo series takes directly after the PR:Turbo Movie. They even used the same style for the Turbo Megazord BotCon 2006 |

Collection Count: Over 1000 | i was 14 when they 1st came on tv in like 1991. there was a kid show void after the death of all the 80's shows. sure TMNTs was still on and I think was still just as popular but what can I say, robots draw boys attention. I watched the 1st 3 years of power rangers...after that, none. My Nephews, one is 7 and one is 5, love the power rangers tv show, however they like transformers toys better, thanks to me
Their mom, my sister, wont let them watch transformers, she says they are too violent, however Power Rangers is ok? lol. Go figure. My Collection My Transformers the Movie 2007 Collection |

The storyline was basically taken straight from the Sentai version, and resulted in a suprisingly mature and almost always engaging season. |

I think I stopped watching around the point where Bulk and Skull got turned into monkeys.
And I see no mention of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover in the "highlights" segment. Was it really that bad? PelleCreepy

I mean, when watching G1, I can barely stand it. Power Rangers is a much more bearable show, yet for some reason people scoff at it as though it's Satan's child-recruitment services. The very mention of "Power Rangers" nowadays (to at least everyone I know) brings about feelings of intense disgust and repulsion, as though people are so adverse to their own childhood.

Then, just for the heck of it, I started watching Generations alongside SPD and Mystic Force on Toon Disney this past summer, along with reading stuff on Wikipedia. And I'm beginning to see why it's consistently #1.
Because it freaking rocks! The stories have more or less become more mature (the narrative, not the violence) while still keeping the "cheese" factor it had in the beginning. I mean, in Mystic Force, I love the dynamic of Koragg being Leanbow and Nick is his son Bowen.
I don't know if I can bring myself to buy any of the toys, though. Member of the tfw2005/Cobra Island Shuffle Alliance |

I do kinda like Mystic Force, and that Titan Megazord is pretty badass. If they ever go on clearance, I'm picking one up. |
