Huh. I might consider getting it now. It's a good looking figure. Just wasn't worth what was originally being asked. Good for Mezco if they did step in too. Even though I'm sure that original price was set by the company carrying it stuff like that won't foster good will and faith in the brand if Mezco lets it happen.
Man - this is like a hybrid of things I want. If it were an Arrow or more classic styled I'd go for it, but it is something inbetween those and this doesn't really go anywhere in my collection.
Gah - they're going to force me to choose a variant. Not sure I want this one or the classic costume.
Damn, GA and Punisher look sick. Hope they do a non-DKR comic-based Batman at some point. I'd love an 80s blue/grey/oval Batman and and a 90s/00s black/grey/non-oval Batman.
Mine is shipped now from BBTS. Hope to have it by Friday. Excellent podcast interview with Mez himself was uploaded today by Hottoycast (I 'know' them as members of sideshowcollectors forum). First interview he has personally given in a long time. Some great reveals of both figures and new licenses in the interview. Really good insight to what is happening with Mezco right now and going into the future. So looking forward to what's already up for order and what will be revealed at SDCC and the future. youtube - The Hottoycast Episode Twenty Nine
In case anyone doesn't want to listen to the podcast (it's apparently over an hour, I'm sure it's good but I don't have that sort of time), one of the big reveals is that 1:12 Classic Ghostbusters are coming. Also, a female character is finally being debuted at SDCC.
2016 Summer Exclusives Sneak Peak via MezcoBlog: "Summer is quickly approaching, and for us action figure aficionados, that means only one thing: the 2016 summer convention season is almost here! We have six exclusive items on tap this year, all of which will be available at San Diego Comic Con and New York Comic Con as well as our website — while supplies last, of course. Stay tuned for more info on these awesome exclusives, including details and pricing." Looks like: Living Dead/Armored Batman/Classic Capt Am/Mez-itz Joker-Harley/Thundercats/???
Indeed he is that is the one I'm waiting on. Also can anyone answer if the exclusives are only available thru Mezco? Or will BBTS and other online stores carry them?
I did wonder about the Jult release date shown at toyfair. How hard are mezco exclusives to purchase on their site? Surely they know he will sell like hotcakes.
How easy/difficult Classic Cap is for me to obtain will be the deciding factor on if I start collecting this line. If it's stupid hard to get, then I don't want anything to do with it.
It will be available on the Mezco site (for those of us in the U.S.) either for preorder or after the con. I'll certainly keep this thread updated for any news so no one has to miss it. Also: Saw this posted in the fwoosh forums the other day and now it is apparently confirmed (in the fwoosh forum by member Lobster Johnson) to be in the new issue of Previews, so it will be a PX exclusive. $80 due out in September.
Translucent shield? Cool! Reminds me of the old, crappy tv movies. So Classic comic version Cap is a SDCC Exclusive? If it goes for over $80, I'm out and I'll be close to being over this line. Unfortunate because I like having high quality comic style figures.
At this point I think we can only say that there will be a Classic Cap as an Con exclusive. Although it's possible that they will only make it as an exclusive, I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't also release a retail version/variant. A classic Cap is obviously a popular figure that could support retail and exclusive versions. We'll just see how it shakes out. The hardest thing for me is choosing which version/s to get. That PX SHEILD version I posted above would look pretty good (if it has a helmeted head) with the coming Comicave MK VII for a faux MCU Cap/IM display. Both the modern and classic versions look so good too. I'd like to be able to get all three, but that would only be possible if I only collected One:12 figures. (and that isn't going to happen with all the Masterpiece and Hot Toy goodness in the pipeline)
