Today at TRU TS, I was visiting my GF who works in Juvenile and I was walking pass the Gi Joe section and to my delighty most of wave 1 and 2 of the DTC Gi Joe line IN STOCK!!! I nabbed up a Salvo and Snow Serpent and Im hoping for Major Bludd, Mutt and Scrap Iron. Anyways, what made Hasbro change thier minds?

Don't know why Hasbro did, probably due to the fact that their Sigma Six stuff wasn't selling that well (and the stuff on line was doing good, but doing better in the stores from what I have been hearing.

Keep checking back at Toys R US, they are getting in most everything from the single carded figures, to the comic three packs, to the repainted vehicles (hisses and ice sabres and rhinos).
(and they are the only ones, a new deal must have been made with Hasbro and Toysrus, which is good for us collectors)

hope this helps some.

I'd also heard that, after the wild popularity of the new Cobra Viper, they pulled the remaining stock from the online store to sell at retail.

Too bad that the only TRU is 50 miles away from me now!

While we're talking about Joes...anyone see the new 2.5 vehicles that were previewed today? They really have that 80s meets 21st century vibe going on!

Those look awesome. If I wasn't planning to save up for the release of TF Classics, I'd probably start collecting those.

Actually, they've been in Toys R Us for more than a month, but it's still very cool to see them.

I would so start collecting that line if not for the ridiculous $5.99 tag on them. At most, they should be $3.99, IMHO. That adds up if you want to complete the line, and with Classics on the way, I have to pass.

Yeah, I think HTS had to unload some of their stock on those, and TRU were the ones to get it. Same thing happedned with the Bandai Creation Godzilla figures that were supposed to be a KB toys exclusive. If I think about it enough, I could probably come up with several other examples in recent memory. Its also the reason for the higher price tag.

Actually S6 is doing quite well, thank you.

I can't speak for the 3 3/4 line, but I've heard some concearns from collectors that left me with the impression that they thought it wasn't doing so well.

S6 is doing fine. 3 3/4 inch did so well online, they decided to go back to retail at TRU. I guess for a "test the water" before hitting other retail stores.

They've been in TRU for roughly 3 months now, and 90% of the time I hit the 5 TRU's around here, there's very little left on the pegs. And what little is on those pegs changes each time, so it's not the same figures just sitting there.
