Staff Edit: Updating this 1st post with any important information for collectors of Macross both new and old. To kick things off, here is a list of the various Valkyrie toys to come through the years
    Takatoku 1/55 VF-1
    • Diecast content found in inner lower legs, landing gear, hinges connecting body to back
    • 1st Transformable VF-1 toy(Kanzen Henkei AKA perfect transformation)
    • ONLY has TV versions as Takatoku went bankrupt prior to the premiere of Macross Do You Remember Love?
    Bandai 1/55 VF-1
    • Bandai bought the molds from Takatoku, and slightly retooled a few of them.
    • DYRL? releases only except for the 1990 VF-1S Super Valkyrie Reissue(less diecast, more stickers in lieu of printed markings, new head), 2002 reissues(close to Takatoku but retooled lower arms thereby incompatible with previously released arm armors), swappable heat shield on VF-1S onwards, and 2008 Origin Of Valkyrie reissues(with new releases being the VF-1A Super Valkyries for both Max and Hikaru)
    • VT-1 Super Ostrich
    • VE-1 ELINT Seeker
    • VF-1S Strike Valkyrie
    • VF-1A Valkyrie Hikaru DYRL? Ver.
    • VF-1J Hikaru Reissue
    • VF-1J Max Reissue
    • VF-1J Milia Reissue
    • VF-1A Mass Production reissue
    • VF-1A Hikaru DYRL? Ver. reissue
    • VF-1S Roy Focker Special Reissue
    • VF-1S Super Valkyrie
    • Origin Of Valkyrie VF-1J Hikaru
    • Origin Of Valkyrie VF-1S Roy Focker Special
    • Origin Of Valkyrie VF-1A Super Valkyrie Hikaru
    • Origin Of Valkyrie VF-1A Super Valkyrie Max
Bandai 1/72 High Complete Model VF-1
    • Only VF-1 toy in 1/72 scale
    • Inspired by the Imai/ARII 1/72 plamo kits
    • 1st VF-1 toy with retractable tail hooks
    • Only 3 releases
    • VF-1A Mass Production
    • VF-1J Hikaru
    • VF-1S Hikaru DYRL? Ver.
    • Optional heat shield included
    • ONLY VF-1 toy capable of swinging wings back WITH missles still attached
    • Mostly plastic construction
    • Most detailed VF-1 toy until the V1 1/60 VF-1 by Yamato came along more than 15 years later
Bandai 1/65 DX Macross 7 Valkyries
    • Mostly plastic construction
    • Seemed to be developed for a younger demographic
    • Not exactly show accurate
    • Very sturdy construction
    • VF-17D Nightmare
    • VF-17S Nightmare
    • VF-19Kai Fire Valkyrie
    • VF-19S Blazer Valkrie

    • VF-11B was actually smaller than 1/60, but bigger than 1/72 for durability reasons
    • YF-19 had a 2nd production run to fix the "Tab B" issues
    • VF-11B(version sans Fast Packs) prone to hip breakages
    • VF-11B
    • VF-11B Super Thunderbolt
    • YF-21
    • YF-21 Fast Pack Ver.
    • YF-19
    • VF-19A Excalibur VFX Ravens colors

    Yamato V1 1/60 VF-1 Valkyrie
    • Substantial amount of diecast
    • Parts swapping required for transformation
    • 1st Valkyrie toy that Nishikawa "FLEX" had a hand in designing
    Toynami 1/55 Masterpiece Collection(MPC) VF-1 Veritech
    • Originally developed in 1/65 scale(it was said at the time that George Sohn expressed interest at bringing over Bandai's DX 1/65 Macross 7 toys)
    • During "scale war" speculation with Yamato, Toynami ended up switching the scale to 1/55
    • Though the toy had the length and height of a 1/55 VF-1 the parts had actually been stretched rather than proportionally upscaled
    • Heavily inspired by the HCM VF-1 which was said to be George Sohn's favorite VF-1 toy
    • Light up visor gimmick
    • Includes boarding ladder
    • Book-style box and certificate of authenticity
    • Initial production run: 15,000 per version(later increased due to demand for certain releases like the VF-1S

I hope it's got a fastpack like the vf11 and yf21 rereleases did. I missed out on the 19 and it's the only one I want.

Hate to be the pessimist, but I'll believe it when it's in my hands, since we all remember what happened with the YF-19 Fastpack.

That's the Valkyrie that Isamu flew when he was monitoring Guld in Macross Plus, right?

...or is that the prototype that Isamu was flying?

I liked all the fighters from Macross Plus...that was the movie that really got me into Macross.

That's the prototype he started flying to compete with Guld.

The first fighter he was in was the VF-11 Thunderbolt... hopefully that will aslo get a 1/60 release down the road as well as the YF-21

I was just over at MW and apparently this thing is a "quantum leap" as far as the previous 1/72 YF-19 goes. Man, I can't wait for this toy! My bank account would say otherwise though.

Call me crazy but I REALLY want a Fire Valkyre.. Heck, I want all the Sound Force valks from Yamato. 0_0

Atleast remolding this into a Fire Valkyre isn't that large of a leap.

Ok my official save up cash now for this toy fund begins...................Now! :D

Awesome! Love the 19, have had the older one for a wile now and it's still my favorite, though I never TF it out of jet mode. If this is leaps and bounds better then the current one I think were in for a real treat.
