On the RVF?! Okay, I'm DEFINITELY not touching mine! I'm close to giving up on Bandai entirely. Maybe even selling off all Frontier stuff. &^$# Bandai.
I kind of feel the same. They sell out too fast, prices are going up and durability is questionable. I really hope Bandai doesn't get the delta license.
Yup, Yamato/Arcadia prices may be high but I haven't had any of their stuff break on me in ages and I never had any issue with ordering.
and here it be, my very first "proper" 1/55 VF-1. to the contrary of some respected opinions out there, this 2001 reissue can indeed achieve GERWALK without shoulders canted at extreme outboard angles, just the same as the original 80's releases can; it is a very good quality reissue, especially for a 21st century product. it feels a little loose in some ways, when directly compared to my 1984 TF JETFIRE version, but that is largely corrected by dogging down the screws throughout. with all the factory printed placarding, and it's crystal clear legibility, i'd say this reissue, while perhaps not QUITE as high a quality in it's materials overall, is vastly superior to any previous 1/55 edition, for pretty much any interested party besides the hardcore vintage collector. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
The classic. My first ever Macross toy was this one way back in the day. Went on to own almost every single 1/55 made after. Definite nostalgia with those (and a bit of sickness knowing I sold them all in my 20s thinking I needed the $ to go out partying...ugh).
For those who are interested, the Arcadia Display Stand has been released. Macross Simple Display Stand by Arcadia | HobbyLink Japan
Is the west coast dock workers strike still going on? I think my Max helmet and Roy helmet replacement part is hung up there.
Final update on my previous mini-rant with selling a VF-171 CF on Amazon. This post is meant to help others in case you experience a similar problem: To recap, sold a MISB VF-171 CF to a buyer via Amazon. Buyer asked for return, despite opening it and says that the details are not "perfect" enough. I rejected the buyer's return but they filed an A-Z claim as "Item not as described" even though the item was exactly as described as admitted by the buyer. I contacted Amazon telling them I fulfilled my end and that the item was exactly as described. They said I lost the claim and that I need to give the buyer my return address. I called customer support and they told me to email Amazon again. The response I got was basically "You did not give the buyer your return address, your account may be debited if you do not send this information." To me, I thought they didn't read my email or maybe it went to the wrong person so I called customer support again and they told me to send another email and that they would expedite my claim and make an annotation on my claim that they supported me. So, I sent another long email and waited for a few days. Several days later, I get an email saying my account is being debited. So now the buyer has my item and I have no money in my account. I'm pretty pissed at this point because now the buyer has not incentive to send the item back to me. I write a respectfully livid email to Amazon and FINALLY I get an answer from a "Team Lead" saying that I HAVE to accept return no matter what, even if the state of the item is altered. This was the email I was waiting for initially so I know that they fully read my appeal...but obviously it came too late. My only recourse was to email the buyer and ask for them to return it and...well...LUCKILY I just got it back. When I opened it, the black triangles appeared to still be intact, although the chest piece cover when its in battroid mode, fell off. I don't know if it's broken or I can pop it back in. I say I'm fortunate that the buyer is honest though I'm still annoyed at them for processing the return as well as Amazon for not clearly communicating to me that I basically have no option despite their website giving some hope (as well as their own customer service hotline). In conclusion, ALWAYS accept the return from the buyer if it is within 30 days. You have the right to charge up to 50% restocking fee (with some justification) if the item is altered/opened. Even if you ship the item as described and the buyer admits it, they can still file an "Item not as described" claim and you MUST honor the claim. Some of you might think I should've accepted the return after the first rejection of my appeal, but on Amazon's website it stated that a claim could be denied if the item received was exactly as described, so I thought I had a chance. I was lucky to get my item back, but I bet a lot of people would have just kept the money and the item. So now, it looks like I'll have one VF-171 CF forever in Fighter mode and maybe as spare parts if anything breaks on my other one.
painting in the internal cockpit detail. also planning to paint in tail and wing running/hazard lights...
I'm hoping someone here can help me with a solution. I have a G1 Jetfire that needs his head re-assembled. He's got a bobb-head and when I removed the top of his head, I can't figure out how to properly reassemble it. There's a round piece inside with a peg, and I don't know what way the peg needs to be oriented to put it back together and fix the bobble-head looseness. Since it is a Bandai VF-1S, I hope I can get some expert advise from the source. I hope I can get his head back together properly and get rid of the bodbble. Thanks in advance! Dang, you did an amazing job!
