Thanks much, that was what it looked like when I looked around and dug for feedback, but I always fear a NY situation after I got burned by them when trying a new to me shop.
Does Anime Export have newsletters or emails? They seem not to stick their head out to promote new items or sales from what I can tell. Sometimes it makes me wonder how solvent they are.
I don't know if they do. However, I stopped shopping with them when they gave me some real crappy customer service when two separate packages went missing while in transit. I waited a few days, to even a week and asked for feedback. Never once did I get rude with them or anything, but they saw fit to just stop responding to any inquiries.
They were never refunded? AE actually did notify me of a figure restock that hadn't gone live yet and allowed me to get in before it went OOS again. I actually considered that great CS at the time. Right now, I have two orders from them warehoused and looking for something else to make the shipping worthwhile, and it's like they don't exist short of going back to the site to see what's added. They are the only one of the common bunch we talk about that isn't filling my inbox with reminders or news. I kinda wonder about them not doing that.
They never refunded. They never even bothered to even "look into it" as they stated. And if they did, I didn't know of anything since they more or less ghosted me and stopped responding after maybe 2-3 e-mails between them where they did respond to me initially. So I took it as, "Okay, you got my money and I got nothing for it. That's the last time this will happen." What made it worse was, I was outside my PayPal protection period since those two orders were preorders.
To be fair, this was years ago well before NY went rogue. But for me, that's neither here nor there. Once you burn me? You won't get another chance to. And if that means I don't get "muh toys"? Oh well.
Ah. Well, I tend to agree, but there have been turnarounds with some retailers, different management, etc. Still, you deserve recompense. I'd feel the same exact way.
True, but still, I'm not ever shopping with them again. I don't care who else comes in to change things or do better. It's all good. And I'm not telling anyone not to shop with them for their Macross wants or other toys wants as it would appear to me that they're fulfilling everyone else's orders. I'm just saying I made a personal decision not to shop with them anymore There's always other options that have come through for me, and have not burned me (yet). So...I will shop with those stores instead if and when I decide I want something
Similar thing happened with me and Nin-Nin a while back. Only thing is I made it a point to get my money back one way or another and even though I was out of the range, I was still able to get the refund. Just had to be very firm with Paypal but that was a while ago and I don't think they give any fucks anymore. Swore off Nin-Nin since then but after years of hearing they have improved and the fact they now have pay later options, I did end up going back to them as a last resort on a couple items and so far, so good. If they didn't have the pay later option they have now and I didn't get my money back before, no way I would make the exception.
I like it. but the clear parts are kinda throwing me off & the price point. I wish they only added the clear parts as a clip on to give it a high paint gloss look or as a mechanics edition. I'm waiting on the Elintseeker and my 1/48 collection will be done for me.
I've ordered a number of items from Hobby Genki in the past and also currently have a few preorders with them at the moment. They can be a bit slow to ship things out, even taking in several instances almost two weeks to ship out items that were listed as being in stock. They can also be slow to respond to inquiries. But in the end they do always deliver and their packaging has been very good in my experience. Their prices also are often at the lower end of the usual shops in Japan, including pretty good rates for FedEx shipping which I always select from them as it gets to me in only 1-2 days and it's not that much more than the slowest shipping options.
Current Amzn-US deals on Bandai DX as of this posting time/date: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BTH7S446
You know, I had a crazy thought. If they truly wanted a real "Mechanics edition"....why not make it look like this guy?: I know there's these things: 202001 1/72 Macross Robotech VF-1S Valkyrie But somehow they don't show all the neat little internal components. On a seperate note, I wouldn't mind a variant of this VF-1
Those prospective KC Motorcycle-themed ones come close to that. I still want my blood-red Axoid variant, of course.
Weren't there some kits of Walkure themed valks (although probably 31s) that resembled this deco? Needs to be a two seater so Makina can serenade Mirage with onya no ko girl while she's flying.
