This was by far the smoothest Macross PO for me. Wake up, get link from forum, buy, go back to sleep. It took less than 5 mins lol
Oh, certainly. They established Skyfire with a couple of decent episodes of the cartoon, too. Gave him a personality and an arc. And it was cool that he was the single exception of an Autobot jet. Which then got diluted by Powerglide, Aerialbots, etc. Great character and the single exception in that his cartoon looked so much worse than the toy. He's always been due for a decent re-working or re-imagining. Character easily could have been re-imagined in any of the lines. Make something not a Valkry, but still lean, angular, and cool that also turned into a sleek air/space craft. But they never wanted to stray far from that general cartoon model as their base. Except once. The Bayverse had a great incarnation of him, alt-mode wise, as a Blackbird. The bot mode of an old bot with a cane and a giant beard of metal shavings…(?) was a … … choice.
With a bad quasi-British/Scottish accent! I do love the Bay Jetfire though. However I tend to put my Bay Jetfire toys into a more upright position and ditch the cane because I think the ‘hunched old man’ concept for a robot is even dumber than I can accept, and I can accept a lot of dumb stuff in the TF world. Passing on the KC Jetfire, I haven’t seen enough positives from them to give me faith in their product, especially for the price. I kind of feel like my interest in a VF-1 in G1 Jetfire deco is low enough where I wouldn’t want something more than a 1/100 scale version of it anyway.
I am surprised this is not completely sold out yet. I did not see this until late last night and was in complete awe of it. Scared me a bit when I saw it was limited to just 500 for the rest of the world. Instant preorder! … and I am a G1 Toon fan

I'm really glad I have no fondness for Jetfire. 260 for that release seems insane to me. That's basically as much as the Takara MP that's coming for Skyfire ffs.
