The year indicates when that particular Macross premiered. 1984 - Macross DYRL 1994 - Macross Plus 2002 - Macross Zero
Huh, that's actually kind of cool. Unlike American companies where it's just the current year on copyright marks all the time. And the VF-0A has one of the coolest Macross color schemes I've ever seen. I absolutely LOVE that subdued grey color.
Huh, I've already got a yamato 1:60 YF-19, the blue version... so I don't know if I want this one... well of course I want it, but I dunno it I can justify it. Whats the difference? Better shield placement? More articulation? Hmm. Yamato did bring out a VF-11 Thunderbolt, I have one upstairs. Thing is, its based on a model kit they did, and therefore its very fragile. My one upstairs can attest to that... its arm broke. Pissed my RIGHT off.
All the old Yamato Macross Plus VF's were 1/72 scale. This one is gonna be a LOT bigger plus it's a total redesign.
WOAH! could someone be a pal and link me more info on that dead sexy piece of plastic and diecast. and Shazam that VF19 is no slouch either. Edit: Found 'em on HLJ. i do believe this thread jsut cost me over a $100, becaus i must have that camo VF-1A
That's not a 1A, that's a 0A. Big difference, even some differences in transformation. I had that original VF-11 that Yamato released too. Mine's all kinds of busted up. Transformed it once, it fell off the shelf during the day, and it was dead. Which sucked. And yeah, the old YF-19 was 1/72, and the new one is 1/60. And it's going to be wild by the sounds of it. Absolutely killer looking. My pre-order went in the day it was available to pre-order. I'm half tempted to pre-order more than one, but that could be dangerous around the time of year they will be coming out. I guess I'll hope they are too expensive to sell out right away, or that they'll do another production run down the line.
oh, yeah, i got that tey were different, iw as talking about needing this: http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00044 can't quite explain why, but this one rocks my socks. Maybe because it looks like a B1 bomber...
Yeah, that's in my list of "to buys" as well as the GBP armor that's coming out that matches it. It's a really awesome looking toy. Mostly because it actually looks like a scheme you'd see on a real jet, except a real jet would have a bluish white underbelly.
NF - I know what you mean, that grey just looks unbelievably cool. I've got two on order. ^_^ tik - that blue YF-19 that you have is probably the 1/72 scale version that was released around... 2000 I think? I've got the same one. Until now there has never been a 1/60 version. This new 1/60 is supposed to completely blow the old 1/72 mold away. Better articulation, perfect transformation, better jet mode, the works. The 1/60 YF-19 is to the 1/72 YF-19 what the 1/48 VF-1 is to the 1/60 VF-1. Hope that makes sense. But I can assure you, this new YF-19 toy will be bigger, better, and badder than anything that's been released before. Oh, and the VF-11 was kind of a disaster. I got one and the leg snapped off right out of the box. But judging from the 1/48 VF-1 and the 1/60 VF-0 Yamato's really got their cq issues together. *sigh* Looks like I'm about to become another $800 poorer...
This will finally be the first large Valk toy I buy, I said that about the Super Millia set and then the VF-0 and passed on both due to their high cost but I will not miss this one.
Im still dying to get that black stealth VF-1J with armor http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=YAM10135&mode=retail The ones pinoy posted are beautiful Just got in one of the transforming Macross action figs. The plastic is a little KO'ish feeling, but the jet is awesome and it comes with a terrific display stand made of many parts for different suspended poses. Some package pics (more loose ones later) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v148/loebig/Robotech/VF-1STFRoyFocker.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v148/loebig/Robotech/VF-1STFRoyFocker1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v148/loebig/Robotech/VF-1STFRoyFocker2.jpg
Anyone know if this version will come with the extra sets of hands (like the ones that come with most of the 1/48's) and any word on extra accessories in general? (guns, missile launchers, armor, things of this nature)
